SCATTERING SHEEP!

Ezekiel 34:1-10 TLB Then this message came to me from the Lord: [2] "Son of dust, prophesy against the shepherds, the leaders of Israel. Say to them, 'The Lord God says to you: Woe to the shepherds who feed themselves instead of their flocks. Shouldn't shepherds feed the sheep? [3] You eat the best food and wear the finest clothes, but you let your flocks starve. [4] You haven't taken care of the weak, nor tended the sick, nor bound up the broken bones, nor gone looking for those who have wandered away and are lost. Instead, you have ruled them with force and cruelty. [5] So they were scattered, without a shepherd. They have become a prey to every animal that comes along. [6] My sheep wandered through the mountains and hills and over the face of the earth, and there was no one to search for them or care about them. [7] "'Therefore, O shepherds, hear the word of the Lord: [8] As I live, says the Lord God, you abandoned my flock, leaving them to be attacked an...

ENLARGE MY TERRITORY!

1 Chronicles 4:9-10 AMPC Jabez was honorable above his brothers; but his mother named him Jabez [sorrow maker], saying, Because I bore him in pain. [10] Jabez cried to the God of Israel, saying, Oh, that You would bless me and enlarge my border, and that Your hand might be with me, and You would keep me from evil so it might not hurt me! And God granted his request.   When we begin to think of enlarging our territory, it means we're ready for change. Territorial expansion is what every believer must crave for God's kingdom. It says Jabez lived more honourably than his brothers, not that he was honoured by them, but the Spirit of God registered him as one of God's honourable. And why? Because his heart was toward God; he honoured the God of Israel, called upon His name, and made a specific prayer request, and God heard and answered him. Jabez was the child of sorrow or pain; his name was the standing memento of the bitterness in which his mother bore him. Why was he ...

THE FAVOUR OF GOD!

Luke 2:52 BSB And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.   The favour of God for a moment is better than a lifetime of labour! When Jesus grew in favour, by extension, all believers grow in favour when they walk with God. The favour of God can be described as a divine kindness, or an act of true compassion on God’s part toward needy and undeserving human recipients like us. It signifies a special kindness or approval from God, often resulting in positive outcomes, protection, and guidance in one's life. Favour is closely related to grace—the unmerited favour of God in the Bible. Those who receive Jesus as their Saviour are saved by grace through faith, as according to Ephesians 2:8–9, salvation is a gift only through the works of grace. The Lord gave the Israelites great favour, as Exodus 12:36 states, they received in one day through no labour on their part what was owed to them for so long because the favour of God spoke for them. Without faith, ...

WORRIER!

Matthew 6:25-34 AMPC Therefore I tell you, stop being perpetually uneasy (anxious and worried) about your life, what you shall eat or what you shall drink; or about your body, what you shall put on. Is not life greater [in quality] than food, and the body [far above and more excellent] than clothing? [26] Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father keeps feeding them. Are you not worth much more than they? [27] And who of you by worrying and being anxious can add one unit of measure (cubit) to his stature or to the span of his life? [28] And why should you be anxious about clothes? Consider the lilies of the field and learn thoroughly how they grow; they neither toil nor spin. [29] Yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his magnificence (excellence, dignity, and grace) was not arrayed like one of these. [30] But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and green and tomorrow is tossed into the furnace,...

THE HUMBLE TREE!

Jeremiah 17:5-8 NKJV Thus says the LORD: "Cursed is the man who trusts in man And makes flesh his strength, Whose heart departs from the LORD. [6] For he shall be like a shrub in the desert, And shall not see when good comes, But shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, In a salt land which is not inhabited. [7] "Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, And whose hope is the LORD. [8] For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.   When the Lord uses the word "curse" in His speech, we ought to pay attention and take note because that oath may be fatal to us. A curse is any expressed wish that some form of adversity or misfortune will befall or attach to a person, place, or object. “Curse” refers to such a wish or pronouncement made effective by the Lord. ...

THE SPIRIT AND POWER OF RESURRECTION!

Romans 8:10-11 Voice If the Anointed One lives within you, even though the body is as good as dead because of the effects of sin, the Spirit is infusing you with life now that you are right with God. [11] If the Spirit of the One who resurrected Jesus from the dead lives inside of you, then you can be sure that He who raised Him will cast the light of life into your mortal bodies through the life-giving power of the Spirit residing in you.   Resurrection is the act of being raised from the dead. It is used in the Bible in three different ways. First, the word “resurrection” most often refers to the resurrection of Jesus Christ. What happened at Jesus’ resurrection is one of the most difficult concepts to understand in the entire Bible. However, it is very important to understand Jesus’ resurrection because it allowed all people to enter a relationship with God. Resurrection is also used to refer to the miracle of returning someone from the dead back to life on earth. The Sp...

HALL OF FAITH AND FAME!

Hebrews 11:1-38 BSB Now faith is the assurance of what we hope for and the certainty of what we do not see. [2] This is why the ancients were commended. [3] By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible. [4] By faith Abel offered God a better sacrifice than Cain did. By faith he was commended as righteous when God gave approval to his gifts. And by faith he still speaks, even though he is dead. [5] By faith Enoch was taken up so that he did not see death: “He could not be found, because God had taken him away.” For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God. [6] And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who approaches Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him. [7] By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in godly fear built an ark to save his family. By faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteo...

I AM TOO BIG FOR THAT!

2 Kings 5:1-14 NLT The king of Aram had great admiration for Naaman, the commander of his army, because through him the LORD had given Aram great victories. But though Naaman was a mighty warrior, he suffered from leprosy. [2] At this time Aramean raiders had invaded the land of Israel, and among their captives was a young girl who had been given to Naaman's wife as a maid. [3] One day the girl said to her mistress, "I wish my master would go to see the prophet in Samaria. He would heal him of his leprosy." [4] So Naaman told the king what the young girl from Israel had said. [5] "Go and visit the prophet," the king of Aram told him. "I will send a letter of introduction for you to take to the king of Israel." So Naaman started out, carrying as gifts 750 pounds of silver, 150 pounds of gold, and ten sets of clothing. [6] The letter to the king of Israel said: "With this letter I present my servant Naaman. I want you to heal him of his leprosy....

FAULTY FOUNDATIONS!

Isaiah 28:16 TLB But the Lord God says, "See, I am placing a Foundation Stone in Zion-a firm, tested, precious Cornerstone that is safe to build on. He who believes need never run away again.   A foundation is the lower portion of a building structure that transfers its load to the ground. It provides stability and support, ensuring the building remains upright and secure. Foundations are crucial because they distribute the weight of the structure evenly and prevent it from settling unevenly, which could cause damage. A faulty foundation refers to a structural issue with the base of a building or construction. This can lead to various problems, such as cracks in walls, uneven floors, doors and windows that don't close properly, and even potential safety hazards. Essentially, it means the foundation isn't stable or strong enough to support the structure properly. In a biblical context, a faulty foundation often symbolizes a life or belief system built on unstable ...

RELEVANCE!

Hebrews 4:12 Voice The word of God, you see, is alive and moving; sharper than a double-edged sword; piercing the divide between soul and spirit, joints and marrow; able to judge the thoughts and will of the heart.   Is the Word of God, the Scripture, and the Bible as relevant today as it was in the days of old? Does it carry the same power it seemed to have decades and centuries ago? How relevant is the Bible, its content (the Word), and the Lord in today’s world? Timeless Wisdom is one way to describe the Bible. The Bible and its content, the very Word of the Father, are timeless and always relevant. The Bible offers wisdom that transcends time and culture. For example, Proverbs 3:5-6 encourages trust in God and not relying solely on our understanding, which can be relevant in any era. There are so many things in life that lose relevance after a while, just as there are seasonal things and events, but the Word of the Lord is total in every way. The Word of God is...

BELIEVING IS SEEING!

John 20:24-29 TLB One of the disciples, Thomas, "The Twin," was not there at the time with the others. [25] When they kept telling him, "We have seen the Lord," he replied, "I won't believe it unless I see the nail wounds in his hands-and put my fingers into them-and place my hand into his side." [26] Eight days later the disciples were together again, and this time Thomas was with them. The doors were locked; but suddenly, as before, Jesus was standing among them and greeting them. [27] Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger into my hands. Put your hand into my side. Don't be faithless any longer. Believe!" [28] "My Lord and my God!" Thomas said. [29] Then Jesus told him, "You believe because you have seen me. But blessed are those who haven't seen me and believe anyway."   A doubting Thomas is a sceptic who refuses to believe without direct personal experience—a reference to the Apostle Thomas, who refuse...
