CHILD-FRIENDLY ASK NOT FOR A KING

Memory Verse: “This request displeased Samuel, so he prayed to the Lord.” — 1 Samuel 8:6   What Happened in the Bible? The people of Israel asked God for a king because they wanted to be like other nations.  But God didn’t want them to have a king—He wanted to be their King! They didn’t trust God to take care of them, so they asked for something that wasn’t part of His plan. What Can We Learn?  - Sometimes we ask God for things we think we need, but God knows what’s best for us.  - God wants us to trust Him, not just ask for things because others have them.  - When we pray, we should ask for things that match God’s plan, not just what we want. Bible Truths  - God warned the people that a king would take their land and make life hard.  - But they still wanted a king, and God let them have one—even though it wasn’t His best plan.  - When we ask for things with wrong reasons, we might miss out on God’s better blessings. Wh...

ASK NOT FOR A KING!

1 Samuel 8:4-8,10-22 TLB Finally the leaders of Israel met in Ramah to discuss the matter with Samuel. [5] They told him that since his retirement things hadn't been the same, for his sons were not good men. "Give us a king like all the other nations have," they pleaded. [6] Samuel was terribly upset and went to the Lord for advice. [7] "Do as they say," the Lord replied, "for I am the one they are rejecting, not you-they don't want me to be their king any longer. [8] Ever since I brought them from Egypt they have continually forsaken me and followed other gods. And now they are giving you the same treatment. [10] So Samuel told the people what the Lord had said: [11] "If you insist on having a king, he will conscript your sons and make them run before his chariots; [12] some will be made to lead his troops into battle, while others will be slave laborers; they will be forced to plow in the royal fields and harvest his crops without pay, and ma...

I Kings 3:5-15 “Solomon kon tell King Fero for Egypt sey e won marry en dota. E don rish 1,000 times wen Solomon don burn ofrin give God for der. 5One nite wen Solomon dey Gibeon town, God kon appear and ask am for dream sey, “Solomon, make yu ask mi for anytin wey yu wont and I go give yu.” 6Solomon ansa, “Yu show great love to David my papa wey bi yor savant and e dey good, dey respet and always dey honor Yu. Yu still show am yor great love wey nor dey end, wen Yu make one of en pikin king afta am. 7“My Oga God, even doh I still dey yong and I nor sabi rule, Yu make mi take-ova fr...

CHILD-FRIENDLY BE WHERE THE LORD NEEDS TO MEET YOU

Memory Verse: “That night the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream.” — 1 Kings 3:5   What Does This Mean?  God wants to talk to us, help us, and bless us—but we need to be in the right place to hear Him.  That place can be: - Church  - Prayer time  - A quiet moment with God  - A special event like a retreat or conference Why Is It Important?  - God has special plans for each of us.  - Sometimes, He wants to meet us in a specific place to give us wisdom, peace, or direction.  - Just like Solomon, who met God in Gibeon, we need to be ready and willing to go where God calls us. Bible Example: Solomon Solomon was a king who needed wisdom.  He went to Gibeon, a special place where God was waiting to meet him.  There, God spoke to Solomon in a dream and gave him wisdom because Solomon was in the right place and had a humble heart. What Can We Learn?  - Be ready to listen to God.  - Be present...

BE WHERE THE LORD NEEDS TO MEET YOU!

1 Kings 3:1-15 TLB Solomon made an alliance with Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, and married one of his daughters. He brought her to Jerusalem to live in the City of David until he could finish building his palace and the Temple and the wall around the city. [2] At that time the people of Israel sacrificed their offerings on altars in the hills, for the Temple of the Lord hadn't yet been built. [3] (Solomon loved the Lord and followed all of his father David's instructions except that he continued to sacrifice in the hills and to offer incense there.) [4] The most famous of the hilltop altars was at Gibeon, and now the king went there and sacrificed one thousand burnt offerings! [5] The Lord appeared to him in a dream that night and told him to ask for anything he wanted, and it would be given to him! [6] Solomon replied, "You were wonderfully kind to my father David because he was honest and true and faithful to you, and obeyed your commands. And you have continued your kin...

CHILD-FRIENDLY GRACE TO OVERCOME!

Memory Verse: “So let us come bravely to God’s throne. There we can receive His mercy and find grace to help us when we need it.” — Hebrews 4:16   What Is Grace?  Grace is God’s special love and help.  It means God is kind to us, even when we make mistakes.  He gives us strength to do hard things and helps us when we feel weak or scared. Why Do We Need Grace?  - Life can be hard sometimes.  - We might face problems, feel sad, or be afraid.  - But God says, “Come to Me, and I will help you!” God’s grace gives us the power to keep going, even when things are tough. Bible Truths  - Jesus understands us because He faced hard things too.  - God’s grace is a gift—we don’t earn it, but He gives it because He loves us.  - Grace helps us win against fear, sadness, and trouble.  - Grace makes us new and helps us be strong in Jesus. EXAMPLES OF GRACE IN THE BIBLE  - God protected Cain even after he made a...

We no fit do God work with our own power; we no get the kind ability wey we need for spiritual things. As Zechariah 4:6 talk am, no be by power, no be by might, but na by God spirit. Wetim be grace? Grace na the better favour and kindness wey God dey show us. Na God dey renew our heart through Christ, na this grace make God decorate us as Him pikin, make us fine, dignify us, and give us special blessing even when we no deserve am at all. Believers fit come before God with boldness because of wetin Jesus our high priest do for us. Jesus understand our weakness well because He sef face all the test wey we dey face, but He no sin; na why we dey sure say wit...

GRACE TO OVERCOME!

Hebrews 4:16 TLB   So let us come boldly to the very throne of God and stay there to receive his mercy and to find grace to help us in our times of need.   Life is full of obstacles that we must overcome before we can advance, succeed, or excel—but only one thing gives us lasting ability to overcome, and that is the grace of God. We cannot do God’s work with our own strength; we do not have the abilities we need for spiritual things. As Zechariah 4:6 says, it’s not by power or by might, but by the Spirit of God. What is grace?  Grace is God’s kindness and good favour to us. It means that God helps change our hearts through Jesus, and He gives us blessings even when we don’t deserve them! Grace is much more than unearned favour. Grace is God dressing up His people, making His children special, and giving beauty and dignity especially when we least deserve it. Believers are encouraged to boldly come to God because of what Jesus, our high priest, has done for us....

PIDGIN MY GRACE IS SUFFICIENT FOR YOU!

2 Korintians 12:7-9 “about di betta tins wey I si for vishon. Make I for nor dey karry body up, God put sometin inside mi, wey bi Satan messenja, so dat e go dey trobol mi. 8Na three times I ask Christ sey, make e take dis tin komot from my body. 9But e tell mi, “Di grace wey I give yu strong rish, bikos my pawa dey show wen yu dey weak.” So, I go boast well-well about how I nor dey strong, so dat Christ pawa go dey show for my body.   Nothing for this world or anything wey dey natural go ever satisfy human desires. People always dey look for the next thing wey fit satisfy their needs. But the Lord, wey dey for heaven, talk say His grace go always be enough for us, no matter where we dey, who we be, or who we with. Him grace dey always enough!  Some things, situations, or people go test our strength, patience, and endurance. No matter how patient we try be, e get one person or thing wey go still make us wish or pray for more patience.  Many times, we dey find more...
