GLORY TO GOD ALONE!

Isaiah 42:8 TLB I am the Lord! That is my name, and I will not give my glory to anyone else; I will not share my praise with carved idols.   I am the Lord! That is my name—A name peculiar to myself. What absolute truth! kābôd means "glory" in most of the 200 contexts in which it is found. Associated with the meaning of glory is the idea of "honour," which is found approximately thirty times referring predominantly to the glory of God. My—that is due to Me, and to Me alone. His glory, God’s alone and He’s not going to share it with anyone, you, man, or mammon. God is sovereign in all His glory, He’s all-powerful, sufficient, and able to do more than anyone else. He put down and lifts and does not compete with anyone else. I AM THE LORD! This is my name, I know what I can do, I know who I am, and I do not need affirmation or confirmation. I AM GOD ALL BY MY SELF! Deuteronomy 32:39-41. See now that I, I am He, and there is no god beside Me; I kill, an...

PURSUING KNOWLEDGE!

Proverbs 18:15 GW The mind of a person who has understanding acquires knowledge. The ears of wise people seek knowledge.   Everyone in life is pursuing something, what are you pursuing? Knowledge in the Bible refers to the understanding, recognition, or acknowledgement of something, to perceive or to be aware of something. Knowledge in itself is not a bad thing as even Hosea says the lack of it leads to destruction but the excessive pursuit of knowledge is what this is about. After all, the Bible clearly states that the knowledge of God is the most valuable knowledge we can possess according to Proverbs 2:5. This knowledge of God is not simply theoretical or factual, it includes experiencing the reality of God in our lives, as stated in Philippians 3:10 while Jeremiah 22:15-16 says we should live in the manner that shows respect for the power and majesty of God, and not through knowledge gleaned from man or books. Gaining knowledge isn’t useful or helpful unless we use it for good....

SWEET MOTHER!

1 Thessalonians 2:7   Happy Mother’s Day to all our mothers, biological and spiritual! God bless you for your labour of love and sacrifices. Psalm 127:3 says children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Everybody comes from a mother, and some are blessed to still have their mothers as seen in Proverbs 4:3. If you’re one of those, cherish your mother. My mum slept in the Lord on the 22 nd of June 2022, and I was devasted as I can no longer wish her “happy Mother’s Day”. We must endeavour to celebrate our mothers daily, not wait for this one day only because mother work at being mothers daily. Celebrate your mothers, they deserve it! Prince Nico Mbarga’s classic song “Sweet Mother” will live in the hearts of everyone for time and the message imbedded in the song is that of the total mother. Sweet mother I no go forget you, For the suffer we you suffer for me yeah. When I dey cry my mother go carry me, she go say my pikin wetin you dey cry yo yo,...

APPEARANCE!!

1 Samuel 16:7 MSG But GOD told Samuel, “Looks aren’t everything. Don’t be impressed with his looks and stature. I’ve already eliminated him. GOD judges persons differently than humans do. Men and women look at the face; GOD looks into the heart.”   In a culture and generation where looks seem to define everything, and beauty holds great importance—evident in the thriving beauty industry—it appears we are still making the same mistake as Prophet Samuel: judging by outward appearance alone. What does "appearance" mean?  Appearance refers to the way someone or something looks, the impression given by someone or something, an act of participating in a public event, or the act of arriving or becoming visible. What does appearance look like today according to these definitions?  For most people, personal appearance is everything. It matters in almost every aspect of life. But should it? According to God, appearances do matter, but His perspective is vastly differe...

THE BEQUEATH NOT BEGAT LIFE!

Galatians 2:20 AMPC I have been crucified with Christ [in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ (the Messiah) lives in me; and the life I now live in the body I live by faith in (by adherence to and reliance on and complete trust in) the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself up for me.   The term bequeath refers to leaving or transferring ownership of personal property, money, or assets to a designated individual or entity, often through a will, trust, or similar arrangement. Legally, it signifies the act of passing on possessions to family members, friends, charities, or organizations as part of one’s legacy. On the other hand, begat is a term predominantly used in the Bible, especially in genealogies, to denote that one person is the direct ancestor or father of another. This term emphasizes blood lineage and inheritance. The "begat life" symbolizes the human life inherited from our biological fathers, tracing all the way b...

SPIRITUAL ALTAR!

Exodus 20:24 (AMP) An altar of earth you shall make to Me and sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and your peace offerings, your sheep and your oxen. In every place where I record My name and cause it to be remembered I will come to you and bless you.   An altar is usually a structure on which prayers or sacrifices are offered to a deity for religious purposes or to commemorate significant events. Spiritually, an altar can be either good or bad, positive or negative, godly or ungodly. - An altar is a body, a temple:1 Corinthians 6:19 calls our bodies the temple of the Holy Spirit. - A place of sacrifice, worship, and consecration. - A meeting point between human and spirit beings. - A place where covenants and vows are made. - A gateway into the spiritual realm: It serves as a spiritual highway for angelic or demonic traffic. As noted in Genesis 28:16-18, when men raise a righteous altar to the Lord, it becomes a gateway to heaven. God never despises the incense fr...

FEAR IS A LIAR!

2 Timothy 1:7 AMPC For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control. The biggest liar in life is fear! Franklin Roosevelt once said, “There’s nothing to fear but fear itself.” According to the Bible, fear is a liar—FALSE EVIDENCE APPEARING REAL. Fear is a natural emotional response to a perceived threat to one’s security or well-being. Its intensity can range from anxious worry to utter terror. At times, fear can be beneficial, prompting caution and actions that safeguard us. However, fear becomes a hindrance when it is rooted in delusion, lingers indefinitely, and overpowers positive emotions like love and joy. This kind of fear can disrupt normal life and rob us of fulfilment. Fear is more than an emotion—it is bondage and a spirit. Yet, God assures us that He has not given us a spirit of fear but a spirit of power...

FULL OF JOY!

Isaiah 55:12-13 AMPC For you shall go out [from the spiritual exile caused by sin and evil into the homeland] with joy and be led forth [by your Leader, the Lord Himself, and His word] with peace; the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. [13] Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree; and it shall be to the Lord for a name of renown, for an everlasting sign [of jubilant exaltation] and memorial [to His praise], which shall not be cut off.   There are people so full of joy that it feels like they bounce off the walls. Merriam-Webster defines joy as the emotion evoked by well-being, success, or good fortune—or the prospect of possessing what one desires—as well as the expression or exhibition of this emotional delight and gladness. We live in a world constantly offering ways to achieve happiness by improving our circumstances. ...

YOU PRAYED FOR IT!

John 16:23 Voice When all this transpires, you will finally have the answers you have been seeking. I tell you the truth, anything you ask of the Father in My name, He will give to you.   We’ve all either been that person or known someone who prayed earnestly for something, only for it to become the very thing that draws them away from God. When we’re desperate, we know how to petition the Lord with fervour. We plead and make promises, hoping to move Him to act as quickly as we desire. Yet, sometimes what we pray and plead for may already belong to us, or it may not align with the Lord’s plans for us at that time—or at all. You prayed for it, and you got it! Philippians 4:6 instructs us: “Do not worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God your needs, and don’t forget to thank Him for His answers.” Everything—big or small—should be taken to the Lord in prayer. There is nothing too great or too insignificant for His loving care! Yet, how often do these ...

PERSEVERANCE!

Philippians 1:6 BSB being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.   Perseverance is the ability to see problems or situations through to the end, despite the difficulties encountered along the way. It is the ability not to let challenges cloud our judgment to the point of overlooking God and allowing problems to appear bigger than He is. Isaiah 46:10 declares that the Lord knows the end from the beginning. This means that whenever something begins in our lives—a challenge, difficulty, or problem—God is already aware of it and has His ways of handling it faithfully until it ends favourably. Perseverance is not difficult when everything is working right and going our way. It’s when we encounter roadblocks to resolving challenges that we need the strength and grace to persevere. The Bible repeatedly tells us that perseverance, though not always enjoyable, is necessary for our lives. As Romans 5:3-4...

SEE GOD EVEN IN THE DARK!

Daniel 2:17-23 GNT Then Daniel went home and told his friends Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah what had happened. [18] He told them to pray to the God of heaven for mercy and to ask him to explain the mystery to them so that they would not be killed along with the other advisers in Babylon. [19] Then that same night the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision, and he praised the God of heaven: [20] "God is wise and powerful! Praise him forever and ever. [21] He controls the times and the seasons; he makes and unmakes kings; it is he who gives wisdom and understanding. [22] He reveals things that are deep and secret; he knows what is hidden in darkness, and he himself is surrounded by light. [23] I praise you and honor you, God of my ancestors. You have given me wisdom and strength; you have answered my prayer and shown us what to tell the king."   Even with light all around, so many people still grope and stumble. How much more in the dark, where no one can see clearly...

A HEART POSTURE!

Romans 10:10 TLB For it is by believing in his heart that a man becomes right with God; and with his mouth he tells others of his faith, confirming his salvation. The concept of heart posture is a central theme throughout the Bible, emphasizing the significance of one's inner attitude and disposition toward God and others. In Scripture, the heart is often seen as the seat of emotions, intentions, and moral character, making its posture crucial in the life of a believer. Our faith is closely linked to heart posture. The text highlights that belief and justification before God originate from the heart, indicating that a proper heart posture is essential for genuine faith.  Whatever we conceive in the heart influences what we do, say, and become. Proverbs 4:23 advises, "Guard your heart with all diligence, for from it flow springs of life," underscoring the heart's role as the source of one's actions and life choices. This suggests that a proper heart posture is esse...

ATMOSPHERE SHIFT!

Haggai 2:6-7 TLB "For the Lord Almighty says, 'In just a little while I will begin to shake the heavens and earth and the oceans, too, and the dry land. [7] I will shake all nations, and the Desire of All Nations shall come to this Temple, and I will fill this place with my glory,' says the Lord Almighty.   With the climate change mantra now in existence, it would seem that people still prefer to hold on to the atmosphere when it’s beneficial rather than have it shift according to seasons. In prayer, we implore the Lord to change our circumstances but are often unwilling to take the steps that will bring an atmospheric shift. But whenever God moves in the physical, as described in Psalm 18:12-13, there is an undeniable and recognizable atmospheric shift. The dictionary defines atmosphere as the pervading tone or mood of a place, situation, or creative work—especially creative work that is defined by the Spirit of God. We see God create the elements and the atmosp...

ACCOUNTABILITY!

Matthew 12:37 TLB Your words now reflect your fate then: either you will be justified by them or you will be condemned.” Accountability means answering to somebody, being responsible, or obliged to report to someone else. It means giving an account of ourselves—where we’ve been, what we’ve done or are doing, what we’ve said, and our motives. It also means that the one holding you accountable has the freedom to ask for an account of the other’s actions. To become more accountable, we must follow God’s commands as outlined in His Word, the Bible. Knowing and reminding each other of God’s Word helps keep us accountable, as stated in Deuteronomy 6:6-9. Scripture says we’ll be held accountable before God and that we are meant to hold each other accountable on earth for our words and actions. Being accountable means being willing to explain your actions with honesty and openness. By your words and actions, you’ll be justified. Every idle word that expresses the true inward character of a per...
