SPIRITUAL GROWTH!

Colossians 1:9-10 TLB So ever since we first heard about you we have kept on praying and asking God to help you understand what he wants you to do; asking him to make you wise about spiritual things; [10] and asking that the way you live will always please the Lord and honor him, so that you will always be doing good, kind things for others, while all the time you are learning to know God better and better.   Every organism—plant, animal, or human—has breath in it, and must grow! Life is not static; it is progressive, moving from one degree of growth to another, from season to season. There is a developmental stage to every aspect of life, including the spiritual. Humanity grows at every stage of life. As believers, we need to grow in our knowledge of God and our love for one another. Change and growth are important because they signify life and the progress of God’s people. Our relationship with Him changes us daily. God is always working to bring about change and growth i...

PIDGIN DI PURSUIT OF KNOWLEDGE!

Proverbs 18:15 “ Wise pesin dey always look for knowledge  and en mind dey find wisdom. ,      Everybody for dis life dey chase someting. Wetin you dey chase? For Bible, knowledge mean make person sabi, recognize or understand someting. Hosea talk say if person nor get knowledge, wahala fit jam am, but di wahala be say if person dey too pursue knowledge without God, e nor go better. Bible talk say di best knowledge wey we suppose get na di one wey concern God (Proverbs 2:5). But dis knowledge nor be just grammar or book knowledge—e mean say make we sabi God for our life proper proper (Philippians 3:10). Jeremiah 22:15-16 talk say make we dey live in way wey go show say we respect God power, nor be just to sabi book matter.  To sabi say God dey nor reach at all. Di real knowledge of God na to get beta relationship wit am. Nowadays, many self-help books dey everywhere, dey tell us how to do plenty things. THE PURSUIT OF KNOWLEDGE!

Proverbs 18:15 AMPC The mind of the prudent is ever getting knowledge, and the ear of the wise is ever seeking (inquiring for and craving) knowledge.   Everyone in life is pursuing something. What are you pursuing? In the Bible, knowledge refers to understanding, recognition, or awareness. Hosea warns that a lack of knowledge leads to destruction, but the excessive pursuit of knowledge—especially knowledge apart from God—is a concern. The Bible clearly states that the knowledge of God is the most valuable knowledge we can possess in Proverbs 2:5. This knowledge is not merely theoretical or factual; it involves experiencing the reality of God in our lives according to Philippians 3:10. Jeremiah 22:15-16 reminds us to live in a way that honours and respects God's power and majesty—not merely through knowledge gleaned from human sources. Being aware of God’s existence is not enough. True knowledge of God must include a deep appreciation for a relationship with Him. Today, coun...

POSITIONED FOR GOD'S PURPOSE!

Judges 4:11-22 ESV Now Heber the Kenite had separated from the Kenites, the descendants of Hobab the father-in-law of Moses, and had pitched his tent as far away as the oak in Zaanannim, which is near Kedesh. [12] When Sisera was told that Barak the son of Abinoam had gone up to Mount Tabor, [13] Sisera called out all his chariots, 900 chariots of iron, and all the men who were with him, from Harosheth-hagoyim to the river Kishon. [14] And Deborah said to Barak, "Up! For this is the day in which the LORD has given Sisera into your hand. Does not the LORD go out before you?" So Barak went down from Mount Tabor with 10,000 men following him. [15] And the LORD routed Sisera and all his chariots and all his army before Barak by the edge of the sword. And Sisera got down from his chariot and fled away on foot. [16] And Barak pursued the chariots and the army to Harosheth-hagoyim, and all the army of Sisera fell by the edge of the sword; not a man was left. [17] But Sisera fled a...

PIDGIN GOD PURPOSE GET TIME TO RIPE!

Ephesians 2:10 “God kreate us thru Jesus Christ as di good work wey E don prepare down before, so dat wi go dey do as E plan.   God create all of us for purpose, and the main purpose na to give God glory and to dey with am for eternity. God will and purpose dey work together:  - God will na wetin He want make happen—na Him plan and direction for everybody and for the whole world. Anything wey God talk, e go do am, because He dey responsible for wetin He do.  - God get general will wey concern everybody (like love, justice, kindness, faith), and He get personal will wey be Him special plan for each person (your own path, decision, and calling). Purpose na the reason why something dey exist or why e dey happen. E be like the deep meaning behind wetin we dey do for life.  God purpose na why He get Him will—na the deep reason or goal wey He get for creation and for every person. Most times, purpose na something wey we dey discover, no be say we choose am by...

GOD’S PURPOSES HAVE A RIPENESS!

Ephesians 2:10 AMPC For we are God's [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].   We were all created for a purpose, and the ultimate purpose is to glorify the Father and be with Him in eternity. God’s will and purpose are intertwined.  - God’s will is what He desires or intends to happen. It is His divine plan and guidance for individuals and the world. It is a decree He makes after the counsel of His own will, determining what will happen and how, because He takes full responsibility for what He does.  - There is God’s general will, which applies to everyone (e.g., love, justice, kindness, faith), and God’s personal will, which is His specific guidance for each person’s life (e.g., your path, decisi...

PIDGIN CRY ME A RIVER!

Psalm 42:3 “dey kry both day and nite and na tears bi di only food wey I dey chop and my enemies dey tell mi sey, “Where dat yor God dey sef?”   “Stop to dey cry! Wipe your eye! No need to dey cry! Cry no fit solve anything!”  But Bible full with tears—Jesus even cry for John 11:35. Cry me a river na way wey people dey talk when dem no get sympathy for person wey dey complain or dey too emotional. E mean say the person dey cry so much like say e fit fill river with tears, but the person wey dey talk no care or dey ignore the crying. Some tears na fake (crocodile tears), but some tears na real. Anything fit make person cry—happiness, joy, laughter, pain, disappointment, and more.  Bible talk about all kinds of crying and why dem happen, and e good to know say God no waste our tears. Sometimes, after breakup, person fit talk, “I cry river for you, now na your turn to cry me river.”  If person dey complain small thing, person fit talk sarcastically, “Cry...

CRY ME A RIVER!

Psalm 42:3 AMPC My tears have been my food day and night, while men say to me all day long, Where is your God?   “Stop crying! Wipe your tears! No need to cry! Crying doesn’t solve anything!”  We often hear these words, but the Bible is full of tears—even Jesus wept in John 11:35. The phrase "cry me a river" is an idiom used sarcastically to express a lack of sympathy or scepticism toward someone who is complaining or being overly emotional about their problems. It suggests that the person is crying so much that they could fill a river with their tears, but the speaker does not care or is dismissing their complaints. There are crocodile tears, but there are also genuine tears. Anything and everything can induce tears—happiness, joy, laughter, pain, disappointment, and more.  Scripture covers all kinds of crying and the reasons behind them, but it’s encouraging to know that our tears are never wasted in God’s hands. Sometimes, after a breakup, someone might...

PIDGIN CHECK YOUR SCHEDULE!

1 Corinthians 14:40: “But make una dey do tins as e suppose to bi.”   To check your schedule mean say you go look your calendar, planner, or diary to see wetin you get planned—meetings, appointments, or things you suppose do. People dey use am when: Somebody wan know if you free for one time.  You dey plan something and you no want make things clash. You wan remind yourself about wetin dey come. For examples: “Fit check your schedule make you see if you free for Friday?” or “I need check my schedule before I fit agree for that meeting.” Schedule or timetable na tool wey help us manage time. E be list of times wey things suppose happen or the order wey dem suppose happen. If you check your schedule, you fit see say e don plan for month or year ahead—everything dey inside from sleep time to holidays. But often, the most important thing dey miss—the time wey you spend with the Lord. Bible talk say make everything dey done decently and in order (1 Corinthians 14:40). Every...
