PIDGIN PRESSING ON TO HIGHER GROUND!

Philippians 3:12-14 “Nor bi sey I don get evritin wey I wont or God don make mi pafet, but I dey try make I get di prize wey dey kom from God kon hold am as Jesus Christ whole mi. 13My brodas and sistas, I nor look mysef like sey I don get evritin wey I wont. Bikos I dey tink of only one tin wey bi: To forget di tins wey don pass kon dey porshu di ones wey dey front 14and as I put my mind for dis tins, I dey try to get di prize wey bi life for heaven; prize wey make God koll us thru en pikin, Jesus Christ.

 

To dey press, push, and dey march go front no matter wetin wan stop us, na to move from where we dey now go where God want make we dey. 

Dis "pressing on to higher ground" mean say we dey serious for spiritual and moral progress. E get strong root for Christian life, and e show say we no go give up for our journey to grow for spirit, even if wahala dey come our way.

To press go higher ground na to dey try make we grow for spirit and mature for God. God no want make we dey one place for spirit—He want make we dey move dey go, dey close to am, dey find better relationship with am every day.

To press on mean say you dey continue dey do wetin you suppose do, even when wahala dey. E mean say you dey move forward with strong mind, you no dey allow problem make you stop. E dey show say you get determination, you no dey give up, you ready to jump any obstacle wey dey your way.

For Bible, especially for Philippians 3:12-14, Apostle Paul talk say e dey press "toward the goal to win the prize of God's heavenly calling in Christ Jesus." Na so e be for us too—we go dey pursue spiritual things, dey focus on wetin go last forever, no be just wetin we fit get for this world. We suppose dey try be better person, leave old bad habits, fears, and anything wey dey hold us back, so we fit enter the new level wey God prepare for us.

For Isaiah 43:18, God talk say e dey always do new thing, and He want make we too dey ready for new level.

To press to higher ground mean say your mind no dey settle for where you dey now, you dey hungry for change, you want move higher. Higher ground fit mean land wey high pass others, but for spirit, e mean better life, better character, and to dey close to God. E show say you wan rise above all the wahala and temptation for this world, dey live life wey go please God. Na to trust God say He fit carry you go higher by Him power and Him plan for your life.

To press on to higher ground mean say you get fire for your belle, you want change, and you no go stop until you reach there.

The popular hymn "Higher Ground" talk am well:

"I am pressing on the upward way, new heights I'm gaining every day; Still praying as I onward bound, 'Lord, plant my feet on higher ground'."

This song na serious prayer and hunger for better spiritual life.

This hunger for more, for something new and deep, suppose dey our heart like Psalm 42:1-2 talk—like deer wey dey thirsty for water, na so we suppose dey thirsty for God, and na only through Him word and Him Spirit we fit reach there.

Spiritual growth no be by our power, but na by faith for God power and grace. As the hymn talk: "Lord, lift me up and let me stand, by faith, on Heaven's tableland," e mean say na God hand we dey, na Him go help us reach higher ground.

To grow for spirit mean say you dey become more like Christ for your thoughts, your actions, and your character. Na journey wey you dey get close to God, dey allow Him Spirit dey change you from inside out. Na by prayer, Bible study, and worship you go sabi God well well.

PRAYER: Baba God, thank you say you no dey leave me for one place. Help me make I grow by your Spirit as I dey learn to know you more and dey grow for you more, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
