CHILD-FRIENDLY STEP OUT OF THE CROWD!
Mark 4:36 GNT
So they left the crowd; the
disciples got into the boat in which Jesus was already sitting, and they took
him with them. Other boats were there too.
Crowds are everywhere!
People like to follow what everyone else is doing, saying, or wearing. But when
we follow the crowd, we sometimes forget who God made us to be. Crowds make
everyone look and act the same, and it becomes hard to stand out or make good
choices.
During Jesus’ ministry, big
crowds followed Him. Some wanted miracles, some wanted food, and some just
wanted to watch. But Jesus often stepped away from the crowd so He could pray,
listen to God, and stay focused on His purpose. Jesus knew that crowds could
distract us and stop us from hearing God clearly.
Sometimes it feels easier to
stay with the crowd. It can even feel safer. But the crowd does not always lead
us in the right direction. The Bible warns us in 1 Corinthians 15:33 that the
wrong crowd can influence us and lead us into trouble. Isaiah 5:20 also tells
us that the world sometimes calls wrong things “right,” and many people follow
without thinking.
God has called us to be
different. Romans 12:2 says we should not copy the world but let God change the
way we think. When we follow Jesus, we must sometimes step away from the crowd
so we can do what is right. The crowd may try to pressure us, distract us, or
stop us from being who God created us to be.
Peter and John chose to obey
God instead of the crowd in Acts 4:19. They were brave because they knew God’s
voice is more important than people’s opinions.
God has a special plan for
you—one that may not fit inside the crowd. Step out and follow Him boldly.
