PIDGIN GODLY LOYALTY!

Rut 1:16–17 “ 16 But Rut ansa, “Nor force mi sey make I leave yu! Anywhere wey yu go, na der I go-go. Anywhere wey yu won stay, na der I go stay. Yor pipol go bi my pipol and yor God go bi my God. 17 Where yu for die, I go die for der too and na der dem go beri mi put. Make God ponish mi well-well if I nor do wetin I promise! Na only deat go fit separate mi from yu!”

  

Loyalty na when person dey tie im heart, mind, and emotion to another person, relationship, or something wey e believe in. E mean commitment, faithfulness, and friendship wey come from deep love. Godly loyalty no be by mouth, na deliberate decision wey make person stand strong, no matter the wahala or fear. Loyal person go go any length, no matter wetin the end fit be. 

The Lord show us how to be loyal through Him character of faithfulness, like we see for Psalm 25:10. For Psalm 31:23, you go see say God loyalty dey shine because He no fit give up on anybody — no matter how many times we fall or disappoint am — He refuse to abandon you and me. 

How far you fit go for others? 

You dey show loyalty only when everything clear for your eyes? 

Or you fit commit even when you no sure wetin go happen at the end? 

Bible get many examples of godly loyalty wey we fit learn from. Matthew 6:21 talk say wherever your treasure dey, na there your heart go dey too. Luke 16:13 remind us say we no fit divide loyalty, we no fit serve two masters, God and mammon. Jesus talk for Matthew 12:30 say we either dey for am or we dey against am; no middle ground. For Matthew 22:21, He talk say make we give Caesar wetin belong to Caesar and give God wetin belong to God. The matter clear — we no fit compromise loyalty! 

Godly loyalty na sometin wey dey make us rise above wetin dey easy or how we feel. E make our commitment stand gidigba for who God be. Bible show say God loyalty no dey shake—Him no dey give up on us even when we fall or disappoint am deep‑deep.

When we show this same kind strong loyalty—like Ruth, wey follow Naomi even when she no understand how tomorrow go be, but still remain committed with her whole heart—we dey show the world wetin God faithfulness look like.

True loyalty dey cost person sometin. E need sacrifice, courage, and sometimes waka wey no too sweet. But na through these choices wey dey hard small, we take dey show say our loyalty to God pass everything else.

Ruth for Ruth 1:14–16 show deep loyalty and commitment to Naomi. She no sabi where the journey go lead her, but she still give everything. Her loyalty be mark of true friendship and faith wey no shake. 

Mark 2:1–12 tell us story of deep friendship and loyalty. The friends of one sick man no mind the crowd; dem go as far as breaking another person roof just to reach Jesus. If dem don give up because crowd plenty, their friend for miss miracle. Their loyalty and love make dem go all the way. Godly loyalty get no limit! 

Na this kind friendship Proverbs 17:17 talk about — loyal friend no dey leave you whether life sweet or bitter. Dem dey stand because the friendship no depend on money or benefit, but on love. 

Today, we see people dey loyal to company, products, and organisations. Some even get “loyalty cards”! But many no dey show that same loyalty to God. Some go hold tight to people or things, even when that loyalty don turn corrupt. 

If we say we loyal to God, we no fit also give loyalty to anything wey dey take His place for our life. Godly loyalty mean total commitment — with our heart, spirit, soul, body, time, and money — not only when e sweet us, but when e please the Lord. 

1 Corinthians 1:10–17 tell us say we all belong to Christ; our real loyalty na to Him. Not to denomination, not to church name, not to pastor — but to God Himself. Loyal obedience to God na must! 

REFLECTION QUESTIONS

·       For which area of my life e dey hard for me to remain loyal to God, and wetin dey cause am?

·       How Ruth own example of strong commitment dey encourage me to show better loyalty to God and to the people wey God put for my life?

·       Wetin be one simple thing wey I fit do this week to show Godly loyalty, even if I no sabi how everything go take end or e hard small?

PRAYER: Dear Lord, help me make I stay fully committed to You. Teach me to follow You with all my heart no matter wetin I face. Make me loyal to You in every season, in Jesus name. Amen.
