CHILD-FRIENDLY DON’T BURY YOUR TALENT!

1 Peter 4:10-11 ICB

Each of you received a spiritual gift. God has shown you his grace in giving you different gifts. And you are like servants who are responsible for using God's gifts. So be good servants and use your gifts to serve each other. [11] Anyone who speaks should speak words from God. The person who serves should serve with the strength that God gives. You should do these things so that in everything God will be praised through Jesus Christ. Power and glory belong to him forever and ever. Amen.

Every child has a special talent that God has placed inside them. Your talent may be the way you speak kindly, help others, pray, sing, draw, lead, or make people smile. God gives every child something precious that they can use to bless others. Your talent is important, and God wants you to use it well.

The Bible teaches in 1 Peter 4:10–11 that we should use the gifts God has given us to serve others. If your talent is speaking, speak in a way that honours God. If your talent is helping, help with the strength God gives you. Everything we do should make God happy and bring Him glory.

But sometimes children hide their talents. Some feel shy. Some are afraid. Some think their talent is too small. Some compare themselves to others and feel their gift is not good enough. But God does not want us to hide our talents. He wants us to use them boldly and joyfully.

Jesus told a story in Matthew 25:14–29 about three servants. Two used their talents well, but one buried his talent in the ground. The master was not happy because the servant did nothing with what he was given. God wants us to learn from this story. He wants us to use our gifts, not hide them.

Your talent may look small to you, but it is big to God. When you use your talent well, God will bless you and help you grow. Proverbs 22:29 teaches that people who use their gifts with excellence will stand before great people.

So, dear child, do not hide your talent. Use it. Share it. Bless others with it. Make God proud with what He has given you.
