RESISTANCE FROM STEPPING INTO PURPOSE!
John 16:33 AMPC
I
have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and
confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and
frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain,
undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm
you and have conquered it for you.]
Stepping
into your God-given purpose is one of the most powerful decisions you will ever
make. But it is also one of the most resisted. The Bible makes it clear that
whenever God calls a person, opposition rises—externally, internally, and
spiritually. Jesus Himself tells us that trials will come, but His victory
gives us courage and peace.
Every
believer must understand this: resistance is not a sign that you’re in the
wrong place; it is often proof that you’re stepping into the right one.
Everyone
called by God faces resistance! Throughout Scripture, the moment people stepped
into divine purpose, they faced pushback.
Moses
resisted God’s call because he felt unqualified, and Pharaoh resisted because
he felt threatened. Jeremiah felt too young and feared people’s opinions, but
God strengthened him. Nehemiah faced mockery and threats while rebuilding
Jerusalem’s wall. Even Jesus was rejected in His own hometown and faced
constant opposition everywhere He went.
If
the great men and women of the Bible were resisted, we should not be surprised
when we are too. Purpose does not come wrapped in comfort. It often comes with
pressure.
Resistance
is often spiritual as Ephesians 6:12 teaches that our real struggle is not with
people but with spiritual forces. Every purpose attracts a spiritual battle.
Every assignment carries opposition. Hell does not fight what poses no threat.
The enemy resists you because your purpose is dangerous to his kingdom.
That
is why God tells us to put on the full armour of God—to stand firm when the
battle comes. You cannot step into purpose casually; you step into it armed.
You
may feel unqualified, afraid, unsure, or overwhelmed. But God’s call always
comes with God’s strength. As 1
Thessalonians 5:24 says, “The One who calls you is faithful, and He will do
it.” God equips the called! You are not expected to fulfil your purpose by your
own ability.
God
provides: Wisdom for every decision. Courage for every step. Grace for every battle. Strength for every weakness.
Purpose
is not fulfilled through perfection but through obedience.
Paul’s
ministry was full of difficulties—shipwrecks, prison, rejection, betrayal, and
hardship. But he stayed focused because he had a vision. He understood that
pressure does not stop purpose; it strengthens it.
2
Corinthians 4:8–9 encourages us with these words: “We are hard pressed on every
side, but not crushed… struck down, but not destroyed.”
Pressure
does not destroy people of purpose. It refines them because resistance helps reveal
what is inside you.
Resistance
reveals: Your level of faith, endurance, determination, trust in God, and spiritual
maturity.
God
uses resistance to prepare you for the responsibility that comes with your
assignment. Before David became king, he fought lions, bears, and giants.
Before Joseph stepped into leadership, he went through betrayal, slavery, and
prison. Before Esther saved a nation, she faced fear and risk. Before Jesus
went to the cross, He faced temptation in the wilderness.
The
resistance is not there to break you—it is there to build you because it helps
us push back at those battles not meant to destroy us. Some battles come to
teach you when to resist, to speak, pray, and stand your ground.
We
cannot be silent, hide, ren away or quit when stepping into purpose. We must
learn to push back against fear, doubt, discouragement, spiritual opposition,
and every voice that tries to pull you off track.
The
enemy pushes to stop us but purpose pushes us forward.
Resistance
means you are a threat because your purpose carries influence, and impacts. The
enemy does not fight anyone going nowhere. He only fights those who carry
light, destiny, and power. You are not fighting for victory; you are fighting
from victory.

PRAYER:
Father, thank You for calling me, strengthening me, and preparing me for my
God-given purpose. Help me stand firm when resistance comes. Give me courage,
boldness, and faith to push back against fear, doubt, and every spiritual
attack. Fill me with Your peace and remind me that You have already overcome
the world. I declare that I will walk in purpose, stand in victory, and fulfil
everything You created me to do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
