BOUNCE-BACK POWER

Do not rejoice over me, my enemy! Although I have fallen, I will rise; although I dwell in darkness, the LORD is my light.


They say tough times don’t last; but tough people, do! That’s very true as Psalm 30:5 puts it, weeping (tough and challenging times) endures only for a season and then it’s over.

Life happens to us all and tries to keep on down and out. Some, sadly, succumb to the pressures and storms of life and give up, when they fall, they have no power, strength and motivation to bounce back.

People’s reaction to tough seasons differs, some easily bounce back from the brink of a breakdown or trauma, some rebound partially, while others just give in and give up with no fight left in them.

God created us with a bounce-back power to cope and overcome every situation, but you must rely on God because we know He’s on our side and the trials that happen in our lives are for our good and His glory according to Joshua 1:9.

They say the only way up is down! The harder you fall, the higher you bounce back! 

The enemy is always looking for ways to pull us down according to 1 Peter 5:8-9, prowling around and looking for whom to destroy, pull-down and keep down; hoping that believers will be terrified by hardship and persecutions, to rise from where they fell.

But bounce back we must! We have no option but to heave ourselves back up with the word of life and encouragement in the scriptures.

When I fall, we will all fall at some point, I fall will rise with the help of the Lord. So, whoever is rejoicing over our calamities, afflictions, or breakdown better beware because our God wouldn’t leave us down, by His grace and power we will bounce back.

To rejoice over the fall or miseries of any man shows a spiteful evil spirit.

We all know one Christian who became unfaithful and fell into sin, with unbelieving friends, rejoicing over their situation and publicity condemning them for being humans able to make mistakes. But some of these people bounced back from their fall, while those jesters at their affliction continued in wickedness.

A good ball of any kind is known by its bounce, when it remains where it’s thrown, it means it no longer has air in it to bounce.

James 1:2-3 says count it all joy, which is translated to temptation, affliction, persecution, or trial of any kind, that will happen several times in a lifetime and designed by God to help us reach maturity and completion, lacking nothing.

The strength and character we exhibit as believers come only from the Lord as said in Nehemiah 8:10, showing Himself strong to help and defend us when we get knocked down.

Psalm 145:14 says the Lord uphold all that fall, the falling, or those who are not able to remain on their feet and the weak. 

The Lord is our prop, nobody falls through their weakness alone if they rely on God, the strongest foe cannot shake them according to Psalm 18:18.

Both the enemy and people will try to prevent us from bouncing back in the day of calamity, they will take advantage of our vulnerability, and attack but because the Lord is our stay, we can’t be overthrown or kept down.

An athlete who remains down from an opponent’s strike will simply be declared the loser because they didn’t bounce back to carry on.

According to Hebrews 12:2-3, we must focus on Jesus, so that we don’t become tired and give up when we’re knocked down. You can bounce back from anything with the help of God.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, thank you for empowering me to bounce back from the storms of life, may I always hold on to your word in Jesus’ name, amen.
