HOLD FAST !

1 Thessalonians 5:21-22 AMPC

But test and prove all things [until you can recognize] what is good; [to that] hold fast. [22] Abstain from evil [shrink from it and keep aloof from it] in whatever form or whatever kind it may be.


Hold fast! Hold on! Whichever you prefer, it still means the same thing. Hold on!  

Life can become like a roller-coaster sometimes, making it difficult to hold on to the rail bars to stop us from falling off. But that’s the point at which we mustn’t let go; otherwise, we may plummet into danger or death.  

I can’t tell you how many times I have wanted to let go and leave things to chance. That’s when I grab hold and hold fast to the handrail of the Word, as it’s the one thing stopping me from falling headlong into danger or death.  

Hold on!  

Some of us are facing monumental challenges that make us question the Word of God and the promises He made. But this is when we must remember what Deuteronomy 31:8 says: “It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; He will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” No matter the need to let go of the handrail, hold fast, hold on, for the Lord is our anchor.  

God is our Anchor according to Acts 27:23-24. In times of roller-coaster challenges, we need the anchor; so, let’s be very sure that our anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock!  

God alone should be our anchor, stopping us from falling off the raging storms of life. Only God can anchor us amid storms. Be confident that He is the Omnipotent One, who is with you always!  

Hold fast to that which is good—whatever we see, hear, and experience should increase our faith and help us hold fast.  

We must test all things by spiritual standards. If they align with the Word of God, then remembering that Isaiah 51:6 declares that God’s Word is fixed forever should encourage us to hold fast, hold on until the manifestation of the promises, as God is watching that Word, He gave you until it’s fully completed according to Jeremiah 1:12.  

Don’t give up!  

Hold fast! Hold on! 

Faith and perseverance is the central message, especially during challenging times. 

Make God your Anchor in the storms of life, to provide stability and support when everything else seems uncertain.

Allow God's word to strengthen and encouragement us in the storm. 

Joseph could have given up anytime between being sold to Potiphar and the prison, but he held fast, held on for over thirteen years until the fulfilment of God’s promise!  

David wouldn’t have made it to the throne if he hadn’t held fast, held on, especially with Saul terrorizing him and having to hide for his life. He held fast and eventually, twenty years later, he ascended the throne.  

Daniel held fast, held on in prayer for the deliverance of Israel from their seventy years of Babylonian exile in chapter nine. He refused to give up even though he would be long dead by the time deliverance came.  

Hold fast! Hold on!  

What are you facing right now that seems hopeless? Some of us are ready to give up, to fall off the roller coaster, but ask yourself, who and where do I turn if I let go of the handrail of God?  

Your position in God is an anchor! Hold fast! Hold on!  

The Word of God will be of little benefit to us unless we exercise faith in it. Are you holding on to the anchor of God?  

What about the anchor of faith?  

Hold fast, hold on to prove all things in God!  

Keep praying for Strength to hold on to God's word and for unwavering faith.

PRAYER: Father, grant me the strength to hold on and hold fast to the Word that can build me up, deliver me, and save me. May my faith never waver in Jesus’ name, amen.
