YOKE BREAKER!

Isaiah 10:27 (KJV) 

And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.


To break forth is a sudden and powerful emergence of God’s favour and blessing, like the sunrise dispelling darkness. It means to cause someone to break or burst forth, to break forth with a shout of joy in jubilation, to make a loud noise of singing and rejoicing, and to break forth out of bondage or a yoke.

A yoke is anything holding a person bound, an enslavement that requires breaking forth to freedom from bondage. We all have some form of yoke we would like to break off our lives. Anything can be a yoke, such as debt, addictions, unhealthy relationships, unforgiveness, fear and more. We’ve probably been doing everything we can to break these yokes but unsuccessfully.

The anointing of the Holy Spirit, as mentioned in our text, is a powerful force in breaking these burdens and leading to freedom and growth! The Lord promises that whatever yoke or burden we carry, whatever is weighing us down, will be broken off by His anointing to allow us to break forth on every side.

We are restrained on every side of life, which stops us from going as far and as fast as we’d like. When we take our hands off the steering wheel of life and allow the Holy Spirit to lead, He creates opportunities for us to break out on every side and overcome limitations and barriers.

The anointing—namely, the Holy Spirit—breaks the yoke that the enemy burdens us with. Whatever persistent, resistant, and distracting tactics the enemy uses against us are subject to the anointing of the Holy Spirit, and according to Psalm 68:19-20, the Lord can deliver us from them all.

The Lord’s promises are not light. He broke the yoke of slavery off the children of Israel as He said He would. It is only the anointing that can break limiting yokes and spells off us that would otherwise stunt our breaking forth on every side (see Leviticus 26:13).

Everybody has plans to walk upright, but unfortunately, life throws curves that derail, distract, and try to stop us. The anointing is able to break whatever prevents us from walking straight, and when yokes break off, our potential is released and realized.

When yokes break off, progress and motion are established, as seen in Psalm 105:17-20, where God sent Joseph ahead to prepare the ground to allow the people to break forth.

What stops us from breaking forth? We’re being held back and down by all kinds of chains that block us from breaking forth. These chains are what prevent changes from happening, and anytime these chains break, breaking forth happens.

We should not expect God’s blessings when we are not ready to do what the Holy Spirit asks us to do to break forth into our breakthrough. The light of God breaks forth from the inside of us to show us the path we need to travel on, breaking forth all around us as God reaffirms His readiness to bless His obedient people according to Isaiah 58:10.

No matter how fast and far we wish to run to achieve and accomplish, we can only do so under the anointing of God that brings about supernatural speed and acceleration, which brings breaking forth on every side.

The anointing also grants us favour to break forth and be established all around as seen in Psalm 90:17.

It’s time to break forth on every side no matter where you are now; the anointing breaks every yoke.

PRAYER: Lord, I decree and declare that your anointing break every yoke of limitation, sickness, lack and backwardness off me in Jesus’ name, amen.
