CONSULT THE WORD OF GOD!

2 Timothy 3:15-17 Voice

because since childhood you have known the holy Scriptures, which enable you to be wise and lead to salvation through faith in Jesus the Anointed. 

[16] All of Scripture is God-breathed; in its inspired voice, we hear useful teaching, rebuke, correction, instruction, and training for a life that is right 

[17] so that God’s people may be up to the task ahead and have all they need to accomplish every good work.


Consultation is a necessity in life. In certain situations, we can’t access services without consulting experts or those who know more than we do. Consultation involves formal discussions, dialogues, or conference meetings with experts, such as medical doctors, to seek advice.

In these uncertain and chaotic times, the world seems turned upside down. The major weapon of the enemy now is fear, but glory be to God, we are not among those who fear because the Lord is our Refuge and Rock.

Second Timothy 1:7 says we have the grace to overcome fear with love. We have nothing to fear but fear itself. When we consult the word of God, we find solutions and answers for every life challenge and issue. The divine writing of the scriptures is profitable for doctrine, and Paul stresses the authority of the Scripture. The divine origin of the Scripture is the reason for its power to convert souls, as stated in verse fifteen, and its usefulness in training.

God gave us two ways of obtaining godly instructions: wisdom with revelation and His written prophetic word. God's revelation comes from His presence, where we receive guidance for the next level and stage that is particular to us individually and possibly for general consumption. The presence of God and the word of God is where we receive instructions and plans for battles in our part of the overall war for righteousness on earth.

Through prayer, God gives a fresh word specific to our current situation, whatever it may be. The Lord will not hide information from the saints, as stated in Amos 3:7. He is a just God who reveals His plans, but only if we consult Him in His word. We can’t hide anything from God, as Jeremiah 23:24 says, but we hope that if God doesn't see, He won’t know.

Rather than consult man for help with our experiences, we should consult the Lord and see His hand move over our issues. Whatever our questions, challenges, and problems, the Word of God is the answer. The Bible is a living document. What’s amazing is that God can use His Word to deliver a personal and specific message right to us where we are. All we need to do is have a listening ear and a perceiving heart when we spend time in His Word and allow Him to counsel us about the things we desire to know, even in criticism, as stated in Proverbs 23:12.

Ephesians 2:8 says God took the steps to provide us with the grace needed for the race. We do not have to work to follow Christ or seek grace; consulting the word will help us take our place not as unworthy sinners but as saved and redeemed saints. The Lord is always speaking through the pages of the Bible, but we must open the pages of our hearts to allow Him to write what He wants for us and not what we want for ourselves.

Now is the best time to begin consulting the word of God. Remember, the one who makes God their refuge will not be harmed, as the Lord has commissioned Angels to watch over you. Consult the word—therein lies all you need.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, thank you for giving me your word, help me to search the scriptures for solutions and answers rather than from others in Jesus’ name, amen.
