ENJOY YOUR LIFE!
1 Timothy 6:17
As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy.
Life is to be lived and enjoyed, and God has given us everything in life to enjoy. However, we can only enjoy it in the right way, with the right people, and with the right motive. Apostle Paul didn’t say some things, or only good things, but all things, whether good or bad. You are meant to enjoy all you experience in life. Everything God made was purposely for His and our enjoyment, His glory, and He promises not to withhold anything good from you, as stated in Psalm 84:11.
There are many people worldwide who, for various reasons, do not enjoy the blessings of God in their lives. Some hoard rather than enjoy and give out of their blessings. But as Proverbs 11:24-25 puts it, the more we give, the more we get. So, enjoy the gift of giving and sharing with others what the Lord has blessed you with.
Everything the Lord blesses us with is to be used and enjoyed here on earth. The blessings of God are not just for us but for those around us as well.
I know a few people who feel ashamed and condemned when they spend their earned money on themselves. They see it as frivolous waste. If you worked to earn money, do you seriously think the Lord will be upset with you if you spend it on nice things? Some work and store and choose to live like paupers. They store for rainy days that may never come but live on a string allowance. Unfortunately, many die before the expected rainy day comes, leaving all they’d worked for but never enjoyed to others to enjoy.
Life is a journey of adventures that must be enjoyed and not endured.
E: Encourage yourself with the promises from God’s word, and don’t allow life to weigh you down. 1 Samuel 30:6.
N: No feeling of condemnation should stop you from enjoying God’s blessings. Romans 8:1.
J: Joyously choose to enjoy the journey of life regardless of your circumstances. Romans 15:13.
O: Obey when the Lord speaks to you. Deuteronomy 11:26-27.
Y: Yesterday is over. Refuse to live in the past. Philippians 3:12-14.
Y: You can choose to think positive thoughts and have a good attitude towards things and people. Philippians 4:8.
O: Overthrow “negative and toxic thinking”. Take every ungodly thought captive. 2 Corinthians 10:5.
U: Use your gifts and talents to help others. Romans 12:13 and Acts 2:42-47.
R: Remember what God has done for you. Be thankful. Psalm 103:2.
L: Live by faith, not feeling. 2 Corinthians 5:7.
I: Invite Christ into every area of your life. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20.
F: Forgive those who hurt you. Ephesians 4:32.
E: Expect God’s goodness in every situation. Psalm 27:14.
An old proverb says, “The secret of life is enjoying the passage of time.” Another says we should “Participate in life instead of just watching it pass you by.”
It does not matter where life has taken you, but there are conditions for believers to enjoy life. 1 Corinthians 6:12 and 10:23 state that the freedom to enjoy life must not overshadow wisdom and caution. Let your enjoyment of life not be detrimental to other people. Share what you have been blessed with, enjoy it with those around you with joy, and let the principles of God’s word and His standard crowd out the world’s standard of enjoyment. You only have one life, so enjoy it wisely, thereby glorifying God.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, thank you for giving me life, help me to enjoy it to the fullest to glorify your name in Jesus’ name, amen.
