HE’S ABLE!

Ephesians 3:20 (NASB) "Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us."

Able is an adjective used for having the power, skill, means, or opportunity to do something extraordinary with considerable skill, proficiency, or intelligence. The scripture is full of God’s power and ability to do more than we can ever ask or imagine.

There’s a song that says, “God is able to do just what He says He would do, He's gonna fulfill every promise to you.” This describes God’s ability perfectly, because as Matthew 19:26 states, nothing is impossible for God. It would be great to say God is absolutely able to do all things, but that would be a lie because one thing God is unable and cannot do is lie. God cannot lie! That is why God means exactly what He says and does exactly what He promises.

Whatever you are waiting for God to do, whatever you are expecting Him to do, whatever He’s promised to do, be assured that He’s able to do it. He did it with several characters in the Bible, starting with Abraham and Sarah. He’s still able to give you a child even in old age.

Understanding and accepting our text scripture is pivotal to our spiritual race. 1 Corinthians 2:9 says that no mere man has ever seen, heard, or even imagined what wonderful things God has ready for those who love the Lord. This certainly corresponds with Ephesians 3:20 because God is not just able to do beyond what we ask, but abundantly beyond. But that’s not enough, He is able to do far more abundantly beyond what we ask. But we still aren’t to the limit: “Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us.”

Now, what is it that you need? I want to encourage you to pray in faith, asking God to do far beyond all that we can ask or think. He was able to deliver David out of Goliath’s hand in 1 Samuel 17, and He’s able to deliver you too out of these giant challenges and problems. Is there anything God is unable to do for us? No! Nothing! He’s able to do more than we can ask.

He was able to take a teenage boy from the familiar in Genesis 39-41 to the pit and all the way to Pharaoh’s palace. He’s able to take you too from that low place you are now to the highest point you can ever imagine. He was able to speak out of the mouth of a donkey in Numbers 22-23, and He’s still able to speak through you to spread His message to those waiting. When the Lord puts His word in your mouth, it would be as Jeremiah 20:9 declared it, fire that is shut up within the bones.

Was the Lord able to do all the things we’ve asked of Him before? Yes, He was and still does. Even when we don’t know what to expect and when the unexpected happens, we can still trust that He’s able to do what we need Him to do. The Lord is able to do much more than physical things for us.

He is able to make us stand: Romans 14:4.

He’s able to establish us: Romans 16:25.

He’s able to keep us from falling and present us faultless before His glory: Jude 24.

He’s able to make all grace abound toward us: 2 Corinthians 9:8.

He’s able to keep that which we’ve committed unto Him against that day: 2 Timothy 1:12.

He’s able to build us up: Acts 20:32.

He’s able to subdue all things: Philippians 3:21.

He’s able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think: Ephesians 3:20.

And He is able to save us to the uttermost: Hebrews 7:25.

He’s able!

PRAYER: thank you, Lord that no other power is able to save and deliver us from destruction in Jesus’ name, amen.
