ATMOSPHERE SHIFT!

Haggai 2:6-7 TLB

"For the Lord Almighty says, 'In just a little while I will begin to shake the heavens and earth and the oceans, too, and the dry land.

[7] I will shake all nations, and the Desire of All Nations shall come to this Temple, and I will fill this place with my glory,' says the Lord Almighty.

 

With the climate change mantra now in existence, it would seem that people still prefer to hold on to the atmosphere when it’s beneficial rather than have it shift according to seasons. In prayer, we implore the Lord to change our circumstances but are often unwilling to take the steps that will bring an atmospheric shift. But whenever God moves in the physical, as described in Psalm 18:12-13, there is an undeniable and recognizable atmospheric shift.

The dictionary defines atmosphere as the pervading tone or mood of a place, situation, or creative work—especially creative work that is defined by the Spirit of God. We see God create the elements and the atmosphere in Genesis 1, and throughout His ministry, we see Jesus command the elements and atmosphere to conform to His dictates, such as in Mark 4:34-40.

God, who made all things, including the elements, can still command all things to shift and change as seen in our text. He says He will shake the heavens and the earth again on the coming day of judgment, emphasizing the Lord’s sovereign authority over all things. God promises to shake all nations so that they will yield the treasures of all nations to adorn the temple.

When we pray the powerful Word of God, it shakes and moves every contrary atmosphere out of the way. What circumstances and strongholds are you trusting the Lord to shift for you? It doesn’t matter how long it’s been or what it is; one word from God can shift that thing if you’ll only believe. As Matthew 21:21 says, whatever mountains we speak to will shift.

The climatic atmosphere shifts at the drop of a hat; it could turn for good or bad enough to be fatal, and so too is the spiritual atmosphere. The enemy doesn’t joke when it comes to wanting to take us out of God’s will and would do anything to keep us captive, but we must learn to exercise our spiritual authority and dominion over him to keep the atmosphere from shifting constantly.

Jesus changed the atmosphere by causing a stormy situation to turn into a peaceful situation. The storm didn’t obey Jesus because He was the Son of God. The storm obeyed Jesus because Jesus had faith and understood the authority we have on earth since Genesis 1:26. Jesus understood that faith can move mountains and change the atmosphere.

We can operate in the same faith that Jesus operated in. John 14:12 says we can even do greater works than Jesus did. With this in mind, wherever a stormy situation is, our faith can change the atmosphere. Our faith can change the atmosphere of a bad relationship for the better. If our neighborhood is filled with drug dealers, prostitutes, and violence, our faith can change the atmosphere. If our nation is under attack by terrorism, racism, and poverty, our faith can change the atmosphere if we believe and operate in faith and dominion.

It doesn’t matter the time, day, location, or situation; we see in Acts 16:25-28 that God will step into any situation and change that atmosphere for His glory. Are you trusting God for a shift in medical, physical, financial, emotional, and even spiritual atmospheric shift? Then, begin to declare the Word that carries power enough to change things. As believers, we don’t have to put up with or be affected by negative atmospheres. Instead, we can partner with God to influence and transform the atmosphere.

PRAYER: Father, I command my atmpshpere to be recharged and aligned with your word and purspose as I overturn every negative atmosphere operating in my life to shift in Jesus’s name. Amen.
