KNOWING WHICH WAY TO GO!
Isaiah 30:19-26 BSB
O people in Zion who dwell in Jerusalem, you will weep no more. He will surely be gracious when you cry for help; when He hears, He will answer you. [20] The Lord will give you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, but your Teacher will no longer hide Himself—with your own eyes you will see Him. [21] And whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear this command behind you: “This is the way. Walk in it.” [22] So you will desecrate your silver-plated idols and your gold-plated images. You will throw them away like menstrual cloths, saying to them, “Be gone!” [23] Then He will send rain for the seed that you have sown in the ground, and the food that comes from your land will be rich and plentiful. On that day your cattle will graze in open pastures. [24] The oxen and donkeys that work the ground will eat salted fodder, winnowed with shovel and pitchfork. [25] And from every high mountain and every raised hill, streams of water will flow in the day of great slaughter, when the towers fall. [26] The light of the moon will be as bright as the sun, and the light of the sun will be seven times brighter—like the light of seven days—on the day that the LORD binds up the brokenness of His people and heals the wounds He has inflicted.
There are so many confused people in the world. Some know which way to go but not how to get there, where, or when to start. Others have no idea where they are going or where to go and are roaming around trying to find the way and the best means to reach their destination. And there are those who know where to go but not the best way to get there.
Do you know which way to go? Which way are you going and how will you get there?
Everyone is looking for a way to get somewhere.
Maybe you are embarking on a journey and have prayed about it but are still unsure of which way to go. Fear not! The Lord says He will always guide us on the way to walk.
Proverbs 3:6 says to trust the Lord in all our ways. Trust that He can lead and direct us the right way always.
You may be going through a lot of dark seasons right now and cannot find your way out of all the confusing paths ahead of you. Yet again, the scripture has an answer in Psalm 119:105, assuring us that God’s word is a lamp for our feet and a light on our path. Regardless of the darkness of the season, the Lord’s words will shine brightly for us to know which way to go and not stumble.
We must know God’s way for us so we can understand and recognize the ways set before us. If we don’t know His will about that issue, journey, or decision, we live outside His will and lose His protection.
The Lord always leads us on a particular path, and we can be confident that whatever happens along the way, we don’t need to worry because we are right where God wants us to be.
We are always in a rush to get to our destination so that we fail to enjoy the scenery, the process, the experience, and the journey itself. As John 14:6 declares, Jesus is the way, and He is full of glorious experiences for us to enjoy as we travel that unknown path that only He can lead us on.
But all too often we don’t hear God’s voice behind us telling us which way to go because we hear and allow the clamoring voices around us, our internal concerns and issues, and the need to hurry, to push us out of God’s will. We just forge ahead on the path we think is the right way and hope that it will work out well.
We must confidently, according to Hebrews 10:19, boldly enter the sanctuary of God through the blood of Jesus to hear, know, and see the path laid out before us and the voice of God directing us.
If, right now, you are seeking or waiting on the Lord to show you the way in any capacity, whether a career path, family, marriage, change of jobs or location, or even the way to go in ministry, then be assured that God’s got His eyes on you. As declared in Psalm 32:8, He will instruct and teach us in the best way to go while guiding us with His eye.
You can navigate your journey in life with confidence, knowing that God is leading you every step of the way. As we seek the Lord’s guidance on which way to go, we must listen for and to His voice. His voice is always there! Take a few moments to wait and hear Him.
PRAYER: Father, grant me listening ears and a heart to hear You speak to me about Your will and the best way to go in every season. In Jesus’ name, amen.
