PIDGIN THE RIPPLE EFFECT!

Bible dey show strong point wey align with ripple effect idea. Ripple effect mean say wetin one person do fit affect many people, e dey spread, even pass from one generation go another. This one dey all over Bible. Parents and elders suppose pass God truth, values, and every good better thing wey dey help person live well, down to their pikin-dem. Na this exact thing Proverbs 22:6 dey talk.

But wetin parents dey pass give their children? When Joshua talk for Joshua 24:15 say he and him family go serve God, he dey say say na him faith go ripple reach all the children them go born after. Why? Na because he lay foundation of faith, show example for families wey want serve God. If you build your house on top Jesus, you dey set faith wey go touch every person for your family.

Dem dey talk “apple no dey fall far from tree,” meaning say pikin dem dey resemble their papa and mama for character and behavior. Children dey copy about 90% of wetin dem see their parents do, not wetin dem talk. No matter how you hide something, small pikin go still notice, them get better eye and ear.

Na so generational pattern dey start and turn to stronghold. Anyhow wey e be, wetin papa or mama do fit ripple go many generations. Bible self explain am for Exodus 20:6, “But I go show love reach thousand generation to people wey love me and dey keep my command.”

Na only if you obey God then your blessings go pass your own life, e go dey reach your children and their own children.

As blessing fit dey cross generation, so e be for consequence. Exodus 34:7 talk am, “...But God no dey leave guilty go free—him go punish papa, punish pikin and their pikin reach third and fourth generation.” This one mean say sin fit affect people wey never even born. But God still get mercy and dey forgive.

God dey faithful reach all generations as Psalm 100:5 talk: “The Lord good, him love dey last forever; him faithfulness go reach every generation.”

This one dey give person hope because God love and him promise no be just for one person, e reach every generation like ripple.

For Joshua 2 and Matthew 1:5, we see Rahab. Because she help Israel spies, God save her family and put her name for Jesus family line.

But David and Bathsheba own na bad ripple effect; their sin bring wahala and loss for their family as we see for 2 Samuel 11-12.

Bible make us see say wetin we talk, how we act and behave, dey bring result wey go far pass wetin our eyes fit see—e dey touch people life, fit change person future, and fit bring consequence for community, even for years. This principle dey encourage believers make we do everything with sense, with faith and good heart, because any small thing fit make spiritual impact pass wetin we plan, like we see for 2 Kings 20:12-21.

Early church for Acts 5:12-16 show how God power and work among Christians reach others—na real ripple effect. People see am, dem join faith. True true, when believer do good, the ripple fit even win more people for Christ as Acts 2:41-47 talk.

REFLECTION QUESTIONS

- You get anybody wey the “ripple” or influence don help your spiritual journey well? How you fit thank the person or pass that blessing to another person?

- You remember time wey small thing wey you do or decide, come get big result—either good or bad?

- When you see say your actions dey affect people pass yourself, how e dey make you wan obey God more?

- Wetin you fit do this week to “sow” kindness, faith, or encourage person, knowing say e fit go far reach people you no even expect?
