GRACE TO OVERCOME!

Hebrews 4:16 TLB 

So let us come boldly to the very throne of God and stay there to receive his mercy and to find grace to help us in our times of need.

 

Life is full of obstacles that we must overcome before we can advance, succeed, or excel—but only one thing gives us lasting ability to overcome, and that is the grace of God. We cannot do God’s work with our own strength; we do not have the abilities we need for spiritual things. As Zechariah 4:6 says, it’s not by power or by might, but by the Spirit of God.

What is grace? 

Grace is God’s kindness and good favour to us. It means that God helps change our hearts through Jesus, and He gives us blessings even when we don’t deserve them! Grace is much more than unearned favour. Grace is God dressing up His people, making His children special, and giving beauty and dignity especially when we least deserve it.

Believers are encouraged to boldly come to God because of what Jesus, our high priest, has done for us. Jesus understands our weakness because He was tested in every way too, but He did not sin. Because of the grace given to us, we can confidently do all that God calls us to do with His help. In Philippians 4:13, Christ promises that we can do all things through His strength.

When God gives us an assignment, He knows there will be trials and obstacles. There are forces that try to limit, condemn, distract, and cause us to fall short of the good things God wants for us. Ephesians 6:10-20 tells us our fight is not against people, but against spiritual forces, so we need God's strength, grace, and wisdom.

There are two things the enemy fears the most: the name of Jesus and the word of God according to Philippians 2:10. Grace gives us boldness to defeat the enemy and stand strong in Jesus. God is ready to fight for you when you call His name. The more you pray and depend on God, the more grace you receive—it’s a gift that does not depend on what you do declares Ephesians 2:8-9.

God’s grace is real and active. Grace means God loves us, forgives us, and helps us because He is kind. Grace gives us what Jesus bought for us—it sets us free from the punishment we deserve.

Grace stopped Abimelech from being destroyed in Genesis 20:7. 

Grace gave Cain a special mark in Genesis 4:13-15 to protect him. 

Grace saved the woman caught in adultery from being stoned in John 8:1-11.

The enemy uses condemnation to make us run away from God, but God gives us grace to win and be close to Him. Condemnation uses fear, but God’s grace breaks fear.

Grace makes us new, gives us clean hearts, a changed life, new beginnings, and frees us from guilt and shame. Wherever you are, grace can find you, save you, and help you overcome.

If grace depended on people, it would not be true grace as said in Romans 11:6. God’s grace is free and for everyone. It takes the blame, covers shame, and turns brokenness into beauty. Grace to you!

PRAYER: Lord, thank You for Your grace that gives me strength to overcome every challenge. Help me to boldly come to You, receive Your mercy, and trust You to help me every day. Fill my heart with courage and faith to face whatever comes my way, by the power of Jesus. Amen.
