CHILD-FRIENDLY AMBASSADORS OF CHRIST!

2 Corinthians 5:20 GNT

Here we are, then, speaking for Christ, as though God himself were making his appeal through us. We plead on Christ's behalf: let God change you from enemies into his friends!

 

To be an ambassador means to represent someone important. As Christians, we represent Jesus. This means our words, actions, and attitudes should show people what Jesus is like. But sometimes, Christians do not act the way Jesus wants. Instead of bringing people closer to God, our behaviour can push them away.

Jesus saw this problem in His time too. The religious leaders looked holy on the outside, but their hearts were not right. They loved attention and titles, but they did not show love or kindness. Jesus called them “whitewashed tombs” because they looked good but were not clean inside.

This still happens today. Some Christians judge others but ignore their own mistakes. Some say the right things but do not live them out. But if we want to represent Jesus well, our lives must match our message.

The Bible gives us examples. 

Jonah preached God’s message, but his heart was not loving. He was upset when God showed mercy to Nineveh. 

Daniel, however, was a faithful ambassador. Even in a foreign land, he prayed, obeyed God, and lived with integrity. His life showed people who God is.

To be a true ambassador of Christ, we need the Holy Spirit. We cannot love, obey, or live right without His help. Jesus said, “Without Me you can do nothing.” God gives wisdom, strength, and understanding to those who ask.

Being an ambassador is not about being perfect. It is about letting God shape your heart so people see Jesus in you.

REFLECTION QUESTIONS 

• Does my behaviour show others what Jesus is like? 

• How can I let the Holy Spirit help me live for Jesus every day? 

• Who around me needs to see Jesus through my kindness and actions?

PRAYER: Father, help me be a true ambassador of Christ. Make my heart clean and my actions pleasing to You. Fill me with Your Spirit so I can show Jesus everywhere I go. Amen.
