To be ambassador mean say you be representative—person wey dey carry authority, message, and character of di one wey send am. When Paul talk say, “We be Christ ambassadors,” e dey remind believers say our life no be our own again. We be people wey dey carry di gospel, mirror Christ, and show di invisible God make people see am. But if we talk true, plenty Christians today don become poor advert for di message of di cross. Instead make people draw near to Christ, our attitude, double standards, and lack of integrity dey push dem comot.

Jesus Himself confront this kain problem for Him time. Na religious leaders wey Him rebuke pass—no be sinners wey dey look for mercy—but those wey claim say dem dey represent God but dey misrepresent Him heart. For Matthew 23, Jesus call di Pharisees “whitewashed tombs”—fine outside but rotten inside. Dem love title, position, and public honour, but their heart far from God. Dem dey preach righteousness but no dey practice am. Dem dey put heavy load on other people, but dem excuse demself. Their life no match their message.

Sadly, this same spirit still dey today. Some believers quick to judge others but ignore their own fault. Some dey preach holiness but dey live anyhow. Some dey demand standard from people wey dem no dey keep demself. Others dey hide under spiritual grammar but no get compassion, humility, or integrity. But ambassador no fit afford such contradiction. Any ambassador wey misrepresent their country go receive letter of recall. Ambassador wey misrepresent Christ dey damage di witness of di gospel.

Scripture give us example of faithful and unfaithful ambassadors. Jonah, for instance, God send am go Nineveh as messenger, but him heart resist di assignment. Even after he preach, he no get compassion for di people God love (Jonah 4:1–11). Him message correct, but him attitude no match God heart. But Daniel na example of faithful ambassador for Babylon. Even when idol worship and corruption full everywhere, he maintain integrity, excellence, and strong devotion to God. To be true ambassador of Christ, your life must line up with your message. Your character must match wetin you confess. Your behavior must reflect your calling. People dey watch you—not to judge you—but to see whether Christ dey real inside you. Paul understand this when he say, “Follow my example, as I follow Christ example” (1 Corinthians 11:1). E no mean say he perfect; e mean say he dey take responsibility. Ambassador no dey live for himself. E dey live to reveal di One wey he represent.

But how we go live this kind life? Di answer simple: you no fit represent Christ without di Holy Spirit. Jesus tell Him disciples, “Without Me, una no fit do anything” (John 15:5). You no fit walk in integrity without Him strength. You no fit love hard people without Him grace. You no fit know truth from lie without Him wisdom. You no fit lead people if Holy Spirit no dey lead you. God dey invite you make you ask for wetin you lack—“If any of una lack wisdom, make e ask God” (James 1:5). God dey give wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and discernment to those wey dey seek am.

To be ambassador of Christ no be perfection matter; na surrender matter. Na to allow Holy Spirit shape your character, clean your motive, and empower your witness. Na to live life wey when people see you, dem go perceive di fragrance of Christ (2 Corinthians 2:14–15). Na to represent Jesus with humility, compassion, truth, and integrity.

Make your life preach louder pass your mouth. Make your conduct reflect di cross wey you dey proclaim. Make you be vessel wey God go use take appeal to di world.

PRAYER: Father, make me true ambassador of Christ. Clean my heart from hypocrisy, pride, and inconsistency. Fill me with Your Spirit and empower me to live with integrity, compassion, and truth. Give me wisdom, understanding, and discernment make my life reflect Jesus everywhere I go. Amen.
