Acts 16:25-26 “ Wen mid-nite rish, Paul and Silas kon dey pray and sing song give God and all di pipol wey dey di prison dey listin to dem. 26 At wons, di groun start to shake, sotey all di wall and pilas wey dey di prison kon dey shake too. Na wons di door open and di shains wey dem take hook di pipol wey dey di prison, kon luz.

 

Suddenly na when something happen quick-quick, without warning, or unexpectedly; na sudden event wey no get transition from the previous state. Na happening wey no come with notice, or only small notice; e just come sharp-sharp, immediate, instant, and abrupt. 

God sudden moments dey often come when obedience and perseverance meet divine timing. Dem remind us say delay no mean denial and silence no mean absence. As we remain faithful for prayer and praise, God dey work behind the scenes, preparing unexpected breakthrough wey go reveal Him power, glory, and perfect purpose. 

Suddenly! Na eureka moment! Na aha moment! Any word wey you use. We all dey wait for some kind suddenly. We dey hunger for sudden moment every day. Sometimes we fit dey wait for long time for something and dey expect am, but when e finally come, e fit come like sudden moment. 

I truly no fit imagine wetin Paul and Silas dey expect when dem start to pray, but prayer and singing to God always dey attract blessing, especially joy for the honour of suffering for Christ sake. 

Every time we sow spiritually, we get guarantee of some kind “suddenly” because we no dey know when and how the answer go come. 

Suddenly! Great earthquake happen — if the men know say the Lord go use earthquake, dem fit ask for another miracle, but through the earthquake the prisoners’ chains loose. This show symbolically the nature of Christian faith: e dey shake and terrify the guilty, e dey proclaim deliverance to the captives, and e dey open prison doors for those wey dey bound; e dey set free those wey dey bruised according to Luke 4:18-19. 

Suddenly plenty angels appear around the shepherds when dem born Jesus for Luke 2:13. Suddenly angel appear inside Jesus empty tomb for Matthew 28:2. 

How long you don dey wait for your suddenly? Make you dey patient, e go happen suddenly. 

For Numbers 12:4, God go speak into that matter suddenly, He fit speak into that situation suddenly. The sudden interference of God for our business show how important we dey to God and how He desire to meet our needs and answer our prayers. 

Although Peter dey sleep for prison cell for Acts 12:5-12, the saints dey pray for am and suddenly he receive answer to their prayer in the form of angel. 

All God promises na suddenly, as He talk for Isaiah 48:3 say He don give us Him word and all of them go come suddenly. 

Some of us don dey battle “Babylon” for long time and we almost dey despair because e look like say the battle no go ever end. Take heart, because according to Jeremiah 51:8, sudden downfall dey come for all your foes. 

Suddenly! The Lord go grant you divine revelation, vision, and your eyes go open like the men for the road to Emmaus after dem encounter the Messiah for Luke 24:30. 

Suddenly! The Lord fit arrest you and stop you from doing something terrible like He do with Paul on him way to do mischief for Acts 9:3. 

You fit dey wait for sign or miracle from the Lord, and dey look for clear signs say e go soon happen, but no sign necessarily dey announce suddenly, as He do for 2 Kings 3:17. Wetin you dey wait for go happen suddenly, unexpectedly, with no prior warning. Suddenly! 

The Bible say Jesus go return suddenly when nobody expect am. You dey ready, because suddenly no get time frame? 

REFLECTION QUESTION 

·       Which “suddenly” you dey trust God for right now, and how you don dey steward prayer, praise, and obedience while you dey wait? 

·       For moments when God intervention come in unexpected form like earthquake for Paul and Silas, how you dey respond — you dey trust Him method as much as Him promise? 

·       If God move suddenly today — whether for deliverance, correction, revelation, or Christ return — you dey spiritually prepared and positioned to receive or respond correctly? 

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, thank You because You be God of suddenly. I dey pray, praise, and trust You to strengthen my faith for the waiting. Let Your divine intervention come at the appointed time, shaking every chain and opening every closed door. Prepare my heart to receive Your sudden move with obedience, gratitude, and readiness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
