CHECK YOUR SCHEDULE!

1 Corinthians 14:40 AMPC

But all things should be done with regard to decency and propriety and in an orderly fashion.

To check your schedule means to look at your calendar, planner, or agenda to see what appointments, meetings, or tasks you have planned. People often use this phrase when: - Someone is asking if you’re available at a certain time. You’re trying to plan something and need to avoid conflicts. You want to remind yourself of upcoming events.

Can you check your schedule to see if you’re free on Friday? Or I need to check my schedule before I commit to that meeting.

A schedule or timetable is a basic time management tool. It’s a list of times at which possible tasks, events, or actions are intended to take place, or the chronological order in which such things are planned.

If you look at your schedule, you might see it planned out for the month or even the year in advance—everything included, from sleeping time to holidays. But often, the most important item is missing dedicated time spent with the Lord.

The Bible encourages us to do all things decently and in order in 1 Corinthians 14:40. Everything in life and in our Christian Walk should be conducted with seriousness and composure, suitable to the importance of our souls and the necessity of our relationship with God.

Psalm 29:2 admonishes us to “give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name.” His name is Mercy; His nature is love. We are to ascribe mercy, love, power, and wisdom to Him.

Have you scheduled time with the Lord in your planner?

- Do you have a set time and duration for worship, prayer, and Bible study?

- Is your time with God organized and prioritized, just like other important appointments?

- Have you put worship, prayer, study, offering, and evangelism in their proper places and times?

Let all things be done decently and in order—this applies to every part of our faith and life. How much pain, confusion, and loss could be avoided if we scheduled time for eternal activities that truly benefit us!

Everything in life—business, industry, family—runs on schedules. Imagine the chaos if a train or a machine fell behind its scheduled time. Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 reminds us that there is a time for everything, and no area of life can succeed without attention and planning. This is especially true for our spiritual lives.

David said in Psalm 5:3 that he calls on the Lord in the morning, just as the Lord declares in Lamentations 3:22-23 that His mercies are renewed every morning. The Lord has scheduled you in His plan—why not schedule Him in yours?

How can you truly seek the Lord if you don’t have a set time of fellowship with Him? Moses spent time with God in Exodus 34:29, and Psalm 34:5 says our faces become radiant when we spend time with the Lord.

Many people’s schedules are packed with things like lunch meetings, gym time, beauty consultations, and holidays—but often lack spiritually uplifting and enriching activities.

We make professional and organizational schedules to be productive and seek promotion, but these can sometimes fail. However, Proverbs 16:3 says that when we commit our works to the Lord and follow His direction, He will establish our plans.

Our faith is nurtured and strengthened when we spend quality time in Bible study, prayer, and worship. When we worship the Lord in the beauty of His holiness according to Psalm 29:2, His beauty becomes ours.

Check your schedule. Make time for what truly matters.

PRAYER: Dear God, thank You for the gift of time and the opportunities each day brings. Help me to use my hours wisely and to plan with purpose, so I may focus on what truly matters. Give me boldness to say yes with intention and no with grace, in Jesus’s name. Amen.
