I see one movie billboard wey I call “demonic, evil colour and font” wey get big letters for red and one skull dey talk say the movie “Final Destination” na must-see. Immediately, I think of where that destination dey for people wey no sabi the Lord and never receive the gift of salvation.

Hebrews 9:27 talk say man don appoint to die once. Appoint... to die once. Every person get only one life before them face eternal judgment and the “final destination.” Which one go be your own?

Yes! Final destination dey, and the choice na your own! Where you go spend eternity? Final destination no dey based on merit, clout, wealth, popularity, or looks. Ask the rich man for Luke 16:19-31. I sure say he think say he get free pass to the good afterlife, but no be according to God’s standard and measure.

The choice na your own. Which one go be? Heaven or hell?

We dey make all kinds of decisions daily, dey pick and choose what, where, how, if, and when of our activities. Some of these choices we fit leave for others to make for us if them no be life-changing or threatening, but the impactful decisions we go surely make ourselves and no go trust others to make for us. Why then we go leave the choice of our final destination to third party?

John 3:35-36 give us the assurance we need for final destination, talk say, “The Father love the Son and don give Him everything. [36] Everyone wey get faith in the Son get eternal life. But no one wey reject Him go ever share in that life, and God go vex with them forever.” C. S. Lewis talk say, ‘I go pay any price to fit talk truthfully ‘All go be saved.’ But my reason dey retort, ‘Without their will, or with am?’ If I talk ‘Without their will’ I go immediately see contradiction; how the supreme voluntary act of self-surrender go be involuntary? If I talk, ‘With their will,’ my reason go reply, ‘How if them no wan give in?’ Ultimately, ‘there dey only two kinds of people for the end: those wey talk to God, ‘Thy will be done,’ and those wey God talk to, for the end, ‘Thy will be done.’ All wey dey Hell, choose am. Without that self-choice Hell no fit dey. No soul wey seriously and constantly desire joy go ever miss am. Those wey seek go find. To those wey knock e go open.’”

Nobody fit work their way into heaven, as many seem to think. That na outright lie of the enemy. Salvation, God’s gift according to Ephesians 2:8-9, worked out individually in fear and trembling according to Philippians 2:12, na the only way to the right “final” destination and no be anything, besides salvation, wey you think you go do to “manipulate” the Lord into allowing you to “sneak” into heaven for eternity.

No sneaking into hell or heaven. You go where you choose, as Proverbs 15:24 talk, “The path of the wise lead upward to life, that he fit avoid [the gloom] for the depths of Sheol (Hades, the place of the dead).” This one tell us clearly say the one wey save by grace and wise for the path of righteousness go upward toward life, essentially heaven, so that he fit avoid the pathway wey lead downward to death and destruction, hell.

You don decide where your final destination go be? Upwards or downwards?

Make Matthew 25:31-33, 41, 46 give you context. Consider your ways and the final destination.
