PIDGIN TREASURE IN CLAY!

2 Corinthians 4:7: But dis betta tin wey God give us, wi dey karry am for inside awa body wey go die like klay pot wey break and na God give us di pawa.

 

Clay na one kind material wey dey very useful and interesting! Wetin Be Clay? 

Clay na natural material wey get plenty fine-fine minerals inside. E dey form when rain, sun, and wind dey break big rock like feldspar wey dey for ground. People don dey use clay for thousands of years to make pot, tile, and brick. Clay dey important for both wetin we fit use and decoration. For building work, dem dey use clay do brick, tile, and cement. E dey also work as natural sealant for pond and dam. For factory, clay dey inside paper, rubber, and even cream. Bentonite clay, for example, dey used for drilling and as gum for sand wey dem dey use for foundry.

Most of us play with clay when we small. We go use am do anything wey our mind fit think, even if e no fine, we go still like am. Na so e be for life, clay, sand or even ordinary ground wey no mean anything fit turn to better thing for person hand wey sabi.

Genesis 2:7 talk say: “Then the Lord God form man from dust for ground, breathe life inside am, and man come become living being.” 

Clay by itself no get value, but when God put Him breath for wetin e mould, e turn to treasure wey get plenty value.

You dey look your life dey wonder wetin special about you or why God make you? The answer simple: Na because you be Him treasure!

Everybody, no exception, na from clay God take create us as Job 33:6b talk:  “I too na from clay God take form me.”

God fit do anything wey e like with clay as Jeremiah 18:5-6 talk. Just like potter dey mould clay, na so God fit do us anyhow e want. Isaiah 64:8 talk say:  “We be work of God hand.”

Clay get many properties wey make am easy to work with:

- Plasticity: When clay dey wet, e dey soft well, you fit mould am anyhow. Na why e good for pot and sculpture.

- Value for Inside: Clay pot fit dey one corner nobody notice am, but if you put better thing inside, everybody go value am. Na wetin dey inside clay pot be the real treasure.

- Spiritual Meaning: We as empty clay pot no too get value until God Spirit enter us and Christ life dey shine through us, na that time we turn real treasure.

How clay dey harden: 

When you put clay for fire, e go strong well, e no go break easy. Na so God dey allow us pass through wahala for life as James 1:2-12 talk. E dey use am make us strong, so we fit stand any challenge.

Clay dey soak:  Spiritually, as clay pot fit soak anything wey e touch, na so we as "clay pot" fit easily dey influenced or contaminated by sin and bad things for world. Na why Paul talk say the "treasure" (God power and glory) dey inside "clay pot" to show say na God get the power, no be us for 2 Corinthians 4:7.

This one mean say we need make God dey wash and protect us every time. Because sin fit enter us easy, we need to dey depend on God to clean and keep us. Our life, like clay pot, dey fragile, but na God dey make us valuable and help us fulfill wetin e plan for us.

Na God power be the real treasure wey dey inside clay pot-e represent the gospel and God presence. Even as we get weakness, God still choose to put Him strong message inside us. Na God Spirit and Him breath be the treasure wey dey inside clay pot.

PRAYER: Baba God, thank you for the better treasure wey you put inside me. Make I no ever take am for granted, in Jesus’ name, amen.
