SPIRITUAL ALLY!

Leviticus 26:7-8 TLB

You will chase your enemies; they will die beneath your swords. [8] Five of you will chase a hundred, and a hundred of you, ten thousand! You will defeat all of your enemies.

An ally is a person or organization that cooperates with or helps another in a particular activity and actively supports the rights of a minority or marginalized group without being a member of it.

It is the unity or connection formed based on a common interest or goal. An alliance is a form of helper, it could be a person or group that aids and supports an ongoing effort, activity, or struggle in politics, medical, emotional, and spiritual settings.

A spiritual ally is someone who supports you in your spiritual journey. This person encourages, guides, and prays with you as you grow in your faith and deepen your relationship with God. A spiritual ally can be a friend, mentor, pastor, or fellow believer who: Listens to your struggles and victories without judgment, offers wisdom and biblical guidance, prays for and with you regularly, encourages you to stay faithful and strong in your walk with God and holds you accountable in love and truth.

We see the first alliance formed in Genesis 14 when the five kings came together to join Chedorlaomer king of Elam in battle.

Everyone needs such connections in life, wherever we find ourselves, there will be a need for someone to ally with us in certain situations as stated in the Message translation of Ecclesiastes 4:12 “By yourself, you're unprotected. With a friend, you can face the worst. Can you round up a third? A three-stranded rope isn't easily snapped”.

Absolute truth! It’s not good to be alone, it’s best to have someone who cares for you besides you. We must value the companionship and friendship provided by those around us.

There is value in numbers!

Why choose to struggle to do things that may take you longer to achieve when you can rely on the help of the allies around you?

Having a spiritual ally helps us stay grounded, motivated, and connected in our spiritual life. They walk alongside us, providing support when our faith feels weak and celebrating with us when we experience breakthroughs.

You certainly can chase and defeat your enemies by the mercies of God but if you join hands with people of like mind, it says five of you will chase a hundred enemies and a hundred of you will chase a thousand. More hands make lighter work!

Unfortunately, our alliance must be a Godly, wise, and compassionate connection, as 2 Corinthians 6:14 puts it, we must not partner with the wrong people. We must not ally with the unscrupulous, adulterous, wicked, immoral, and even religious people, we must not as Proverbs 24:21 states, join those who are rebellious.

When we gather in unity to fellowship, no matter the number, our voices and hearts create a force multiplied in hundreds and thousands if we go by our text, because we harness the power in a cooperative agreement to bind, loose and tear down according to Matthew 18:18-19.

The foundation of life and earth is shaken by a spiritual alliance in prayer as happened in Acts 2:1-6, thousands got saved by the spiritual alliance of prayer.

Nehemiah had contentions in rebuilding Jerusalem’s walls, but because they had good, resolute, and strong allies in chapter 4, even at great discomfort to them seen in Vs 23 the work of God went on.

God allies and partners with us in everything we do (godly prescribed things), as He did with the tribe of Reuben in 1 Chronicles 5 who were going to war with a much bigger army, verses 18-22 state that they cried to God and He helped them, they defeated their enemies because the battle was God’s.

God wants to ally with you against the enemy, but He wants you to need and cry out to Him. Everyone experiences problems and challenges but according to Psalm 34:15, the Lord’s eye is on the righteous and He hears their cry. Are you the Lorde’s righteous? Have you allied with Him and cried out to Him?

Make godly and wise connections that will provide you with a strong spiritual alliance.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of fellowship and community. I ask that you guide me to the right person to walk with in faith, or help me to be a source of encouragement and strength for someone else. Grant us wisdom, understanding, and a spirit of love as we support one another. May our relationship draw us closer to You and help us grow in grace, faith, and obedience. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
