THE PROMISE KEEPER (Pidgin)

God na the promise keeper; He dey always deliver on all e word. He no dey go back on e promises, He no dey fail or change e mind according to Numbers 23:19 but He still need our participation for our successes, prosperity and development. With over 3000 promises wey God make for Bible, He instruct us to ask for anything we need and promise to answer us when we ask according to Luke 11:9.

God our Father wan make us prosper, bless, keep us healthy, and safe, provide for us and do plenty things wey our natural earthly fathers no fit do for us. Deuteronomy 28 tell us all the things wey God want and no want for us, but the list no dey finish.

David na man wey sabi how to not only praise God but also sabi how to expect and receive from Him.

When he write Psalm 37, he probably dey come out from stressful, difficult, and challenging period, but instead of focusing on the problems as many of us dey do, he focus on e maker. Colossians 3:2 talk say make we set our eyes on the things above wey be where our salvation and help dey.

As I talk before, the Bible full with God’s promises to us individually and generally and Psalm 37 alone get twenty-five of these promises from God to us:

1. We go dwell for the land for verses 3 and 29

2. We go chop for verse 3

3. He go give us the desires of our hearts for verse 4

4. He go bring things to pass for verse 5

5. He go bring righteousness to light for verse 6

6. He go bring judgement

7. Evildoers go cut off for verses 9, 20, 22, 34, 38

8. He go give us the earth as inheritance for verses 9, 11, 22, 29, 34

9. He go give us plenty peace for verse 11

10. He go uphold us for verses 17, 24

11. He go grant us eternal inheritance

12. We no go shame for evil things

13. He go satisfy us for times of famine for verse 29

14. You no go cast down or fall

15. He no go forsake us for verse 28

16. He go preserve us forever

17. He go cut off the seed of the wicked

18. He no go allow our steps to slide for verse 31

19. He no go give us over to the wicked for verse 33

20. He no go condemn us

21. We go get peace for verse 37

22. He go give us salvation for verses 39-40

23. We go get strength for every battle

24. He be our helper for verse 40

25. We go deliver from the wicked.

God promise all these from only one chapter of a book of the Bible, and plenty more from Genesis to Revelations, which other promises you don pick and hold onto? God don ever fail you? He don ever break promise to you?

Numbers 23:19 tell us say God no dey LIE about ANYTHING.

E dey very clear say Joshua and the children of Israel fit confidently boast of God’s ability to keep His promises for Joshua 21:45 talk say, “Every good thing the Lord promise them come true”. These people no get the Holy Spirit, how much more you, a child of the new covenant in Christ. God go keep that promise, hold on to am, for they sure according to 2 Corinthians 1:20.

The promise keeper dey keep His promises.

PRAYER: Thank you, Lord for your promises, I know say you no dey lie or fail. Help me to trustingly hold on to your promises to me through Christ Jesus. Amen.
