TEST! Test na something wey almost everybody dey fear or even hate. Test na way wey dem dey use measure, check or judge how person sabi something, get skill, or fit do work. Test fit be written question, practical work or even oral exam. For school, work, lab and many other places, dem dey use test to know how far person don go, or if e fit reach certain level.

But why we need test and why dem dey test us? 

Test dey check whether we dey learn or dey grow. E dey help us find our strong and weak point. E dey show if we fit move to next level or get certificate, and e dey help find problem.

All these na physical or normal things. If the world dey test us to know if we fit do work, get qualification or if we correct, then e make sense say God wey be Oga patapata go still want make we dey tested. No be for Him own sake, but make we self know who we be, wetin dey inside us and how strong we be.

Students dey write test to show if dem sabi wetin dem dey learn. People dey test-drive car before dem buy am to know if the car good. Companies dey spend plenty money to test their product before dem sell am. Our character and spiritual life too dey tested by wahala, temptation, and suffer. Bible dey show difference between temptation wey wan make us sin, and test wey God dey use to make us better and help us grow.

For Bible, God dey allow or arrange test for people life to prove, refine and make their faith and character strong. For example, God test Abraham when He tell am make he sacrifice im pikin Isaac, to check whether Abraham go obey and trust am (Genesis 22:1-2).

God test no be like human test. E no be written or book test. E dey spiritual, e dey check character and behaviour. God no dey test us to pass exam or get certificate, but to prepare us, make we understand who we be for Christ, wetin we get inside us, and how important we be for God kingdom.

Test dey help us grow for spirit. New Testament talk say when our faith dey tested, e dey help us get patience, maturity and completeness. James 1:2-4 talk say make we happy when we dey face different wahala, because the test of our faith dey produce endurance. 1 Peter 1:6-7 talk say the way gold dey pass fire to pure am, na so test dey show and clean our real faith.

God dey test our heart and motive. He dey check wetin dey our mind to know our real intention (Jeremiah 17:10, Proverbs 17:3).

Bible talk say all believers suppose dey test theirself and the spirit wey dey influence dem. 2 Corinthians 13:5 say make we check ourself to know if we really dey inside faith. 1 John 4:1 say make we test every spirit to know if na God send dem.

For 1 Corinthians 10:13, Paul encourage those wey God dey test or those wey dey face temptation. E talk say any test or wahala wey we dey see, no be only us dey face am. But God dey faithful, He no go allow the test pass wetin we fit handle. He no promise say He go remove us from every test or temptation, but He promise say e no go too much for us.

Moses still tell the people make dem obey God, using the way God dey care for dem as reason. God allow wahala make dem humble, prove dem, and test their obedience, just as He dey do for all Christians. God know wetin dey people heart, and He still know today.

Which God test you dey face now? No worry, God dey with you inside am. If you fit endure and pass God test, you go get reward as James 1:12 talk am.

PRAYER: Lord, abeg give me strength, focus and peace as I dey go through every test. Make Your Holy Spirit guide me, and make I do my best for Your glory. Remind me say no matter how e be, You get better plan for my life, in Jesus name, amen.
