Afta di breeze stop, di groun kon dey shake and swallow tins, but God nor dey inside. 12Afta, fire kom out, but God nor still dey inside di fire too. Afta di fire, Elijah kon hear one small vois. 13As e hear am, e kover en face with en klot kon waka go di kave door-mot for outside. Den one vois tell am, “Elijah! Wetin yu dey do for here?”

 

 

Sometimes, we dey do plenty things wey we think say na God send us, but e no mean say God dey inside am. Even for ministry, e fit reach one day we go find out say na we dey run things, no be God. Person fit dey waka for faith, dey follow Bible, but still dey make mistake.

Plenty Christians and pastors today dey do wetin Elijah do—dem dey talk say na only dem dey faithful, dem dey judge God people, the land, and the church. Elijah talk say na only am remain wey dey serve God. God come tell am make e stand for mountain, but Elijah no gree. For 1 Kings 19:13, we see say na cave Elijah dey stand for entrance.

Na so wind, earthquake, and fire happen for the mountain. All these wahala fit remind Elijah say him own spirit dey too harsh. But none of these things make am comot from cave. Na after the fire, Elijah hear small, gentle voice—na God gentle voice bring am come entrance of the cave. Even for there, Elijah still dey complain say na only am dey serve God.

How your own be? You dey rush go where sound dey sweet, light dey shine, message dey make ear sweet but e dey kill soul? You dey follow men and women of God wey dey look correct, dey dress fine, dey act like say dem don make am for God side?

We fit dey look successful, get money, people dey hail us, but for God eye, we fit be like wetin Jesus talk for Matthew 23:27—whitewashed tombs wey fine for outside but inside na dead bone full am. This na how the scribes and Pharisees be, and e dey happen to many Christians today. Outside, dem look holy, but inside, dem dey spiritually dead.

If Elijah no dey full of himself, he for know say all those wind, earthquake, and fire no fit do wetin God gentle voice fit do. E for see say him own heart no better pass the people own, and as force no fit make am comot cave, na so force no fit make person comot from sin.

Today, we dey run from conference to conference, retreat to retreat, all na to hail organisers and pastors, everything dey shine, but God no dey inside. We go finish, still dey find wetin go ginger us because, truth be say, God no dey there.

We dey hear preaching wey no dey help our spirit or soul, because God no dey inside those messages.

God no dey always dey for big, show-show things, as He show Elijah, and even for how Jesus take born for manger for Luke 2:10-13.

The church today sometimes dey look like film set—dem dey wait for “light, camera, action,” then dem go start to perform, but dem no ask God, dem no wait for Him instruction. God no dey inside!

People dey look, dey clap, dey shout, but God no dey inside.

Make we shine our eye, make we wise, make we dey careful where we dey go, who we dey follow, who we dey listen to. God fit no dey inside wetin dem dey do.

PRAYER: Papa God, abeg help me remember say You no dey do show-show, na real impact You dey find. Help me sabi where You dey and wetin You dey do, make I no lost for all these fine-fine things. In Jesus name, Amen.
