PIDGIN THE LORD NO DEY BUILD ON YOUR OWN FOUNDATION!

Psalm 127:1-2 “Unless God build house, di pipol wey dey build am, just dey waste dia time. Unless God guide town, doz wey dey guide am, nor go fit protet am.

2E dey yuzles to work hard from morning go rish nite, bikos of wetin yu go chop. Yes! God dey provide for di pipol wey E love, even wen dem dey sleep.

 

Foundation! Building and foundation! 

Wetin you dey build, and wetin you dey build am on top? Wetin be the thing wey your foundation dey made of? Bible dey talk about foundation both for real life and for spiritual matter, and e dey use am teach us better lesson.

Psalm 127:1-2 talk say, “If na God no build the house, na waste people dey waste their time; if na God no dey protect city, na waste the watchman dey watch.” This one mean say if God no dey inside wetin you dey do, all your effort go just dey waste. God no dey build on top human plan or foundation—na Him own will and purpose suppose be the real foundation.

Na God be the Main Foundation. 

Isaiah 28:16 talk say, “See, I lay one stone for Zion, na correct stone, precious cornerstone for sure foundation; anybody wey put trust for am no go panic.” This one dey talk about Jesus Christ as the main foundation for our faith.

Christ na the real cornerstone wey every building need. Anything wey we build outside God foundation no go last. God no dey support wetin Him no start. If e no be Him foundation, e no go maintain am. 1 Corinthians 3:11 talk am: “Nobody fit lay another foundation except the one wey don already dey, wey be Jesus Christ.”

Christ na the strongest foundation we fit build on top. Apostle Paul talk say na only Christ be the real foundation for Christian life.

Wetin you dey build? 

God dey build with you? E dey build through you? If God no dey build with you, na just small time remain before the thing go fall. To build for solid foundation dey important if you want make anything last. Jesus talk for Matthew 7:24-25 say, “Anybody wey hear my word and do am, na wise person wey build e house for rock...” Obey Jesus na like to build for strong foundation wey fit stand any wahala.

People wey dey build house suppose work hard, watchman suppose dey awake, but dem suppose trust God to bless their work. Psalm 127 dey promote hard work, but no be because of greed or wahala (see Proverbs 23:4–5).

If your foundation no dey for God—no dey for Christ the cornerstone—anything fit happen, e go scatter. Psalm 11:3 talk say, “If foundation don spoil, wetin righteous person go do?” If foundation no strong and God no dey inside, everything fit collapse.

How your foundation be? 

You get strong spiritual foundation? Many people dey try build better financial foundation for their family, but dem no dey remember say spiritual foundation dey more important. For Job 38:4, God remind Job say na Him lay the foundation of the earth, na Him get power to sustain everything.

Samuel John Stone hymn, “The Church’s One Foundation,” talk am well:

The Church’s one foundation na Jesus Christ her Lord; 

She be Him new creation, by water and the word: 

From heaven He come find her to be Him holy bride; 

With Him own blood He buy am, and for her life He die.

The Church and apostolic foundation na Christ. The Church dey built on top the apostles teaching, with Christ as the cornerstone (Ephesians 2:20). Make you build on Christ, no build on yourself.

PRAYER: Baba God, thank You say You be my cornerstone. Help me make I build my life on top this strong and unbreakable foundation wey be Christ Jesus. Amen.
