Di pipol dey mourn and all di green leaf don dry, bikos God don curse dia land.” 11God sey, “Di profets and priests nor know mi; I katch dem dey do wiked tins for my temple.

 

Withered pasture na land wey grass don dry, everywhere don die finish, sometimes na because rain no fall or na God judgment cause am. For Bible, Amos 1:2 talk say, “The pastures of the shepherds dey cry, and even Mount Carmel don wither,” meaning say even better land fit turn desert if God vex.

For Bible, withered pasture mean loss, judgment, and say life no dey last if God no dey inside. E dey show say land or people fit lose their power and blessing if dem sin, neglect God, or God punish dem. Joel 1:10-12 talk how farm don spoil and crops no dey grow again, all because people no obey God. Jeremiah 12:10-11 talk say shepherds (leaders) don destroy God’s farm, make better land turn wasteland—na sign of spiritual neglect. Isaiah 24:4-6 show earth dey cry and wither because people dey sin, break God law, and no dey do wetin God talk.

This kind picture na warning for us—make we dey faithful to God. But Bible still show say if people repent, God fit restore land, bring life come back as 2 Chronicles 7:14 talk.

As land fit dry and no get food, so person fit dry for spirit if e dey far from God, faith, or better purpose. Spiritual dryness na sign say person no dey connect with God again. Even for our world today, all this wahala—earthquake, flood, climate change, bush burning—na reminder say we suppose take care of wetin God give us.

Society self dey spoil—corruption, bad government, injustice—na another kind withering, where people and community dey lose their blessing and moral stand because dem dey chase worldly things. When God hold blessing or bring judgment, land go wither, show say na only God dey give real life and blessing.

Isaiah 40:6–8 talk say grass go wither, flower go fade, but God word go last forever. Na so human life be—short and fragile, but God word no dey ever fail.

Withered pasture dey bring spiritual dryness. When people or community no get God life again, wahala go dey—money wahala, emotional wahala, family wahala—e go be like say their own “pasture” don dry, dem need renewal and healing.

But Bible always join this picture of withered pasture with hope—if we get faith, repent, and hold God, renewal go come. People and nation no dey spoil one day; na small small e dey happen, especially when leaders wey suppose guide us no dey do well.

Isaiah 24:4-6 show how earth dey suffer because people wey suppose care for am dey break God law. Jeremiah 12:10-11 talk say shepherds destroy God vineyard, land wey suppose dey fertile now don turn wasteland—na sign of spiritual neglect. Nation and people wey before dey enjoy now dey suffer because of sin and wickedness.

But if we turn back to God, He go restore everything wey we don lose. 

E dey remind us say na only God fit give true life and blessing—without am, everything go wither and fade.

PRAYER: Baba God, make we no lose hope. Even if our body dey waste away, renew our spirit every day. Continue to give us new strength, even for hard times, in Jesus name. Amen.
