WALKING IN REDEMPTION!

Ephesians 1:7 TLB

So overflowing is his kindness toward us that he took away all our sins through the blood of his Son, by whom we are saved;

Redemption comes from a Latin root meaning “to buy back.” The term is used to describe freeing someone from chains, slavery, or prison—a divine act of rescue, restoration, and renewal. Redemption is a central theme running from Genesis to Revelation. It’s not just about being saved from sin; it’s about being bought back, restored to purpose, and welcomed into relationship with God.

Every human being on earth was redeemed by Christ’s death, but it is an individual’s responsibility to receive the gift of redemption. Redemption does not become a reality unless we identify with the finished work of the cross and the sacrificial offering of the Savior, Christ Jesus.

We were purchased by the precious blood of Christ, giving Him authority over our lives and souls.

1 Corinthians 7:23 says, “God paid a high price for you, so don’t be enslaved by the world.”

We are made acceptable to God in Christ, for it is He alone whose sacrifice, by the mercy of God, is imputed to us for the forgiveness of sins.

Are you walking in that costly-purchased redemption?

As stated in Isaiah 44:22, God blotted out your sins; they are gone like morning mist at noon! Oh, return to Me, for I have paid the price to set you free.

Remembering the price paid for our salvation should keep us from returning to our sinful ways and becoming enslaved by the world.

When we receive salvation and redemption, making Jesus Lord and Savior over our lives, Satan no longer has any authority over us.

Nothing else should have the audacity to lord over us once we are redeemed, because we then belong to the One who redeemed us.

Redemption is God’s answer to humanity’s deepest need. It’s the heartbeat of the gospel—God not only forgives, but restores, transforms, and adopts. It’s the story of love that pays the highest price to bring us home.

Without doubt, the infinite worth of Christ’s sacrifice and the genuineness of God’s “whoever will” invitation to all who hear the gospel (Revelation 22:17), the doctrine of redemption states that the death of Christ put away the sins of all believers and ensured that they would be brought to faith through regeneration and kept in faith for glory, and that this is what it was intended to achieve.

Redemption isn’t just a theological concept tucked away in Scripture—it’s a living, breathing reality that can shape how we walk, talk, and relate every single day.

Redemption means you’re no longer defined by past mistakes but have a new mindset. You begin to see yourself through the lens of grace, not guilt.

Redemption is a daily renewal. Each morning becomes a fresh start. You can say, “I’m redeemed, so I don’t have to carry yesterday’s shame.”

Redemption is the better choice; it’s knowing you’ve been bought with a price (1 Corinthians 6:20), which inspires us to live with purpose and integrity.

Our earthly suffering is to resist those things we’ve been redeemed from. Being a child of God becomes real, and heaven becomes real when we realize the absolute integrity of the word—written, inspired, and breathed—of the living God given to us directly, in absolute truth, trusted and backed by the Spirit of God.

From Genesis, we see that God did everything by His word, and the Holy Spirit has a great desire to show us how God works through His word to redeem us.

Would you walk in redemption now?

The word of God is His bond; we cannot separate Him from His word or His word from Him.

The fact that we have been redeemed should cause us to tell others about what God has done for us—the gospel story. As stated in Psalm 107:2, “Has the Lord redeemed you? Then speak out! Tell others he has redeemed you from your enemies.”

PRAYER: Lord, thank you for purchasing me with the precious blood of your Son. Thank you for my redemption in Jesus’ name, amen.
