(CHILD-FRENDLY) GET OUT OF EGYPT!
Bible Verse: “So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land…” Exodus 3:8
What Does “Get Out of Egypt”
Mean?
In the Bible, Egypt was a
place where God’s people were slaves. They worked hard, cried a lot, and were
not free. But God loved them and sent Moses to help them get out of Egypt and
take them to a better place.
Today, “Egypt” can mean
anything that makes us feel stuck, sad, or far from God. It could be:
- Telling lies
- Being afraid
- Fighting with friends
- Not forgiving someone
- Doing things that we know
are wrong
God wants to help us leave
those things behind and live in freedom, peace, and joy.
How Can I Get Out of My
Egypt?
1. Know what’s holding you
back. Ask yourself: What makes me feel far from God?
2. Talk to God. Pray and ask
Him to help you change.
3. Take small steps. Say sorry, forgive, tell the truth, be kind.
4. Don’t go back. Even when
it’s hard, keep moving forward.
5. Find good friends. Be
around people who help you grow and love God.
Bible Story Reminder
When Pharaoh finally let the
Israelites go, they left Egypt quickly! God opened the Red Sea and protected
them. He didn’t just take them out—He took them into a better place.
REFLECTION QUESTIONS
- Is there something I need
to stop doing so I can follow God better?
- What is one good choice I
can make today?
- Who helps me grow closer
to God?
- How can I help someone
else get out of their “Egypt”?
PRAYER: Dear Jesus, thank
You for loving me and wanting the best for me. Help me to leave behind anything
that makes me feel stuck or far from You. Give me courage to make good choices
and walk in Your light. Thank You for giving me a new beginning. Amen.
Shalom
