Matthew 5:13-15 ““You be the world seasoning wey dey make am sweet. If you lose your taste, how the world go be again? Na so dem go throw you comot, make people dey step on you like dirty thing. You be the world light—like city wey dey on top hill, wey dey shine for night so everybody fit see am. No hide your light! Make e shine for everybody; make your good work shine so people go praise your Papa wey dey for heaven.”

 

Today, the world full with all kinds of influencers, especially social media influencers wey join our daily life through our phones and devices. Influencer na person wey fit inspire or guide people, dey make people like or do sometin through wetin dem post online. Plenty influencers dey for different places, companies, and things, but the spiritual side no get many Christian influencers. The few christian ones no get as much impact as the world influencers because dem no dey promote bad or sinful things, and those kain things na wetin people dey like.

Believers don call make dem be influencers anywhere dem dey. We carry Christ for inside us, and the light wey dey inside us suppose shine to influence the world. Bible talk say believers suppose be "salt of the earth" and "light of the world," meaning say by our good example and actions, we fit lead people go God and correct way.

Social influencers go dey tell us how to do, when to do, where to go, and wetin to buy. Their influence strong reach that some believers dey follow dem pass Bible.

Many people don forget their culture and wetin dem learn from parents, just dey follow those popular influencers as if na correct. But the Bible talk say make we listen to our parents teaching for Proverbs 1:8-9, and make we no follow anybody wey talk bad or lead us go bad thing. Proverbs 22:25 warn make we no join wicked people way.

Now generation dey follow influencers for social, money, work, and other palces—people go do anything just to be like dem. But as believers, the light and word of God inside us suppose dey influence everybody wey we meet. People suppose see God for our life and want get am too.

Even Satan get more influence than many believers, like we see for Bible when Jesus deliver people from satanic power, e.g. for Matthew 9:31-33 when a man no fit talk before Jesus make am talk.

If you be influencer, you suppose represent Christ and His kingdom well well. You no fit do anything wey go make people run away from God, church, or salvation.

The good thing you do dey influence people well and e make them praise God wey dem no fit see but dem dey see through you.

World dey use secret messages dey make people do bad things, crime, and create wahala. But 1 Thessalonians 1:6-7 talk say we get God word so that we go be good example or influencer to others.

We dey quote social media influencers for everything—wetin dem dey do, chop, wear, and how dem live, but Bible suppose be our main guide.

Make we learn to love God pass everything and follow Him  according to 1 John 2:15-17, no follow world and all him content.

History dey go fast to God end, and bad influence dey make am faster by carrying people away from truth and salvation.

You be influencer. God create you and call you to be fisher of men as Mark 1:17 talk. So, make you influence people for Christ.

-         How you fit make Christ light shine more for your words and action? 

-         Which spiritual habits you go fit build to help you be better godly influencer? 

-         How you go fit know the difference between world influence and God guidance for your life and people wey you dey lead?

PRAYER: Lord God, abeg help me to be faithful godly influencer, make your light shine strong for my life. Give me wisdom to represent You well and courage to sabi stand against bad influence. Make my words and actions lead people to praise You. For Jesus name, Amen.
