Neighbour na anybody wey dey near us, person wey you fit trust or show you kindness, or any human being wey deserve better from you.

You be good neighbour? For Bible, to be good neighbour mean make you show true love, kindness, and care to people wey dey around you—no matter who dem be. E pass to just dey friendly; na to dey look after person and treat dem as you for like make dem treat you. Everybody na your neighbour! Jesus show say no limit—everybody wey you meet na your neighbour, and God say make we show love and mercy to all type of people.

Bible no dey for “stranger” matter; make we see everybody as our neighbour, especially good neighbour as the story for Luke 10:25-36 talk.

Who you dey call neighbour? Everybody get neighbour. E fit be the person wey dey your street, for your area, or local community. You sabi who dey your left, right, or your back? You dey hail your next door neighbour? You dey know their name?

Who be my neighbour? For Jesus time, one expert wan know how many people to love and who be real neighbour. E expect say Jesus go talk na friend or fellow Jew. E no reason say neighbour fit be foreigner. God want make everybody—especially Christians—dey act neighbourly. Jesus no argue, e tell story: na foreigner act as neighbour; na the Good Samaritan, wey stop and show mercy. God expect make you treat everybody as your neighbour. Answer be: the Samaritan wey stop and show love na the good neighbour.

We dey this digital world wey everybody na “paparazzi” with phone. People go rather take video than help pesin, we don see am many times. Proverbs 3:28 talk say make you help neighbour sharp sharp, no delay. E still mean say neighbour fit be person wey you dey see everyday. These Old Testament verse show us how make we know who be neighbour, and how make we take respond.

Gospel show how love suppose cross boundary—Samaritan stop help, mean say neighbour no be just person wey look like you, na anybody wey fit show compassion. Everybody get wahala, sometimes pass as e show for face, but we dey hide am for smile or vex. One way to know wetin people dey go through, and how to help, na to show God love as good neighbour, just as Jesus command us for Matthew 22:37-38.

To love others, make your heart, soul, and mind full of God love. Make we focus on God first before we fit love our neighbour well. E dey sweet God when we try love our neighbour. As we copy God character, our own go better. If you love people like you love yourself, you dey show God work for your life.

Be good neighbour as Jesus command. Love your neighbour as you love yourself.

PRAYER: Papa God, make You fill my heart with love, kindness, and compassion for all people wey I go meet. Help me make I be good neighbour with my talk and my action, serve people as You teach, and show Your love to everybody, no matter who dem be. Make I be light for my area, and make my life show Your goodness. Amen.
