Poison or venom na any substance wey fit make person sick or even cause death if e enter body or touch body. Poison na toxic thing wey dem fit take from plant or make with chemical.

For Deuteronomy 29:18, e talk say poison wey come from bitter spirit go turn person away from true God wey dey alive. This fit mean bad teachings wey no pure, wey no follow true Gospel from Bible.

For this generation, negative emotions don too common. People dey accept am like say e normal or like na how some people be.

Some people allow these feelings make dem weak, stop their growth, or stop dem from living good life. Sometimes, dem dey show these emotions for body too.

Bible for Romans 12:1-2 talk say we no suppose follow society wey don accept poisonous behavior. We suppose make God Word change our mind and thinking. God talk for Scripture say make we sharply avoid these bad attitude and behavior.

Anger, especially the one wey person no fit control, na poison for soul. Everybody go get angry sometime, but we no go behave like fool for Proverbs 29:11 wey just dey show e anger anyhow. Plenty people dey use excuse say dem nature or their situation make dem get anger but if anger dey lead our action, na sin e be, no matter how reason good be, according to Ephesians 4:26.

E good to get anger but make e no take over you or become poison wey you dey use destroy yourself and people around you. Letter "D" separate anger from danger, but both na bad match. Make you careful how you handle anger because uncontrolled anger fit lead to danger.

Plainly, anger na sinful passion.

Envy or jealousy fit remove God from heart. E spoil spiritual health, dey take joy, happiness, and contentment from life. Proverbs 14:30 talk say envy fit make bones spoil. We dey waste plenty good energy dey do envy, jealousy, anger – energy wey fit work well for better tins. James 3:14-16 call envy demonic. Envy fit blind us to good for others and stop good relationships.

Gluttony na when you dey do or take too much of anything, e fit spoil body, mind, feeling and even spirit. 1 Corinthians 10:31 talk say too much of anything no good. Roman empire fall because dem overeat but dem soul hungry, same na Christian wey dey do religious things without soul nutrients.

Today society like "I want am now" and dem dey do plenty excess. Philippians 3:19 talk about this. Proverbs 23:2 say make person put knife to throat if e dey glutton. Overeating na poison wey fit cause many physical problem. Moderation na the key, Proverbs 25:16 talk so.

No matter how poison enter you, after some time e go start destroy you. This na the place to show self-control. Say no to spiritual and personal poison.

REFLECTION QUESTIONS 

- Wetin be the negative emotions or attitude wey dey poison my spirit and relationship? 

- When anger dey come, how I dey react? I quickly dey shout or I dey ask God to help me control am? 

- How envy or jealousy dey affect my joy and relationship with people? 

- For which part of my life I need practice self-control and moderation to avoid damage?

PRAYER: Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Your mercy and grace wey dey always forgive and restore us. Lord, help me put away bitterness, anger, envy, and all poison wey fit harm my spirit and relationship. Fill my heart with Your kindness and love so I fit forgive others as You don forgive me. For Jesus name, Amen.
