CHILD-FRIENDLY BETRAYAL!
Micah 7:5-7 TLB
Don't trust anyone, not your best friend-not even your wife! [6] For the son despises his father; the daughter defies her mother; the bride curses her mother-in-law. Yes, a man's enemies will be found in his own home. [7] As for me, I look to the Lord for his help; I wait for God to save me; he will hear me.
Memory Verse: Psalm 41:9 “Even
my best friend has turned against me-a man I completely trusted; how often we
ate together.
Have you ever had a friend
who promised to play with you but didn’t? Or someone told your secret? That’s
called betrayal—when someone you trust lets you down. It hurts, doesn’t
it?
The Bible talks about
betrayal too.
- David said in Psalm 41:9, “Even
my best friend, someone I trusted, has turned against me.”
- Jesus was betrayed by
Judas, one of His own disciples, with a kiss. Luke 22:47–48
Betrayal can make us sad,
angry, or even want to stop trusting people. But God wants us to forgive and
trust Him. People may fail us, but God never will!
Sometimes, we also hurt
others by breaking promises or saying unkind things. That’s betrayal too. When
that happens, we should say sorry and make it right.
WHAT CAN WE LEARN?
- Everyone makes mistakes,
but God wants us to forgive.
- When people hurt us, we
can pray instead of fighting back.
REFLECTION QUESTIONS
1. Has anyone ever hurt your
feelings by breaking a promise? How did you feel?
2. Have you ever hurt
someone by not keeping your word? What can you do to fix it?
3. How can you show
forgiveness like Jesus did?
4. Who can you trust the
most? (Hint: God!)
PRAYER: Dear God, thank You
for being my best friend who never leaves me. Help me forgive people who hurt
me and be a good friend to others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Shalom
