CHILD FRIENDLY HOW MUCH?
Memory Verse: 1 Timothy 6:10 “The love of money causes all kinds of evil. Some people have turned away from what we believe because they want to get more and more money. But they have caused themselves a lot of pain and sorrow.
Sometimes we think about
what’s important in life. Is it money? Is it being famous? Is it having lots of
stuff? Or is it something deeper—like love, kindness, and doing what’s right?
Let’s ask a big
question:
How much is a person worth?
Is it how much money they
have? Or how much they give? Or how much they love?
In the Bible, there are
three stories where money was used in a big way:
1. Joseph and His Brothers
In Genesis 37 Joseph’s
brothers sold him for 20 silver coins. That’s not much! But Joseph became a
great man who helped many people. His brothers? They had to come back to him
for help. So, who really had more value?
2. Samson and Delilah
In Judges 16 Delilah was
paid 5,500 silver coins to trick Samson. That’s a lot of money, but was it
worth hurting someone she loved? She chose money over love and loyalty. That
money didn’t make her a better person.
3. Jesus and Judas
Jesus was betrayed by His
friend Judas in Matthew 26:47-52vfor 30 silver coins. That’s how little Judas
thought Jesus was worth. But Jesus gave His life for us—not for money, but
because He loves us. His love is priceless.
So, How Much Is Your Life
Worth?
It’s worth more than all the
money in the world.
Why? Because Jesus paid for
your life with His own. That means you are very special and deeply loved.
REFLECTION QUESTIONS
- If someone were going to
sell you out, how much would they ask for?
- Would you ever trade a
friend for money or things?
- Have you ever chosen
something wrong over doing what’s right?
- Has someone ever hurt you
for their own gain? How did it feel?
PRAYER: Dear God, help me to
remember that people are more important than money. Help me to be wise and
kind, and to never hurt others just to get things. Thank You, Jesus, for loving
me so much. Amen.
Shalom
