CHILD-FRIENDLY MINDSET: THINKING LIKE JESUS!
Memory Verse: 2 Corinthians 10:5: "We take every thought and make it obey Christ."
What Is a Mindset?
Your mindset is how you
think and feel about things. It’s like the glasses you wear—if they’re dirty or
broken, you won’t see clearly. But if they’re clean and strong, you’ll see the
truth!
The Bible says our thoughts
are very important. What we think about can help us grow closer to God—or pull
us away from Him.
Why Does Mindset Matter?
- Sometimes, we believe lies
like “I’m not good enough” or “God doesn’t care.”
- But those thoughts don’t
come from God—they come from the enemy.
- God wants us to think
about what is true, good, and lovely (Philippians 4:8).
Bible Story: David and
Goliath
Everyone was scared of the
giant Goliath. But David wasn’t! Why?
- David remembered how God
helped him fight lions and bears.
- He believed God would help
him again.
- David didn’t focus on the
giant—he focused on God’s power.
That’s a faith-filled
mindset!
How Can We Clean Our
Thoughts?
The Bible says we should renew
our minds (Romans 12:2). That means:
- Pray and talk to God.
- Read the Bible to learn
what God says.
- Speak truth like “God
loves me” and “I can do all things through Christ.”
Think Like Jesus
Colossians 3:2 says: "Think
about things in heaven, not things on earth."_
That means we should focus
on God’s love, peace, and promises—not just what we see around us.
REFLECTION QUESTIONS
1. What do I think about
when I’m scared or sad?
2. Do I believe God is
bigger than my problems?
3. What good things can I
think about today?
4. How can I help my friends
think like Jesus too?
PRAYER: Dear God, thank You
for loving me and helping me think good thoughts. When I feel scared or
confused, help me remember Your truth. Teach me to think like Jesus and trust
You every day. Help me to be brave like David and believe You are always with
me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Shalom
