Dem take some tins wey I sey make dem keep for mi from Jeriko; dem tif dem kon put dem join dia own propaty. 12Israel pipol nor fit stand for dia enemies front; dem run bikos disgrace don dey follow dem. I nor go dey with una again, unless una distroy wetin make dis wahala dey happen to una.

13“Make yu get up! Go santify di pipol make yu tell dem: ‘Make una santify unasef before tumoro, bikos Israel God sey, “Israel pipol, una body dey dirty! Una nor go fit fight una enemies until una remove wetin make una dirty.”

14“ ‘Wen day break, una must kom akordin to tribe. Di tribe wen God go choose go kom akordin to village. Di village wey God go choose go kom akordin to family. 16Di next day for early morning, Joshua kon tell Israel pipol make dem kom tribe by tribe and God kon choose Judah tribe. 17Joshua sey make di pipol for Judah kom village by village and God kon choose Zera village. Joshua sey make Zera pipol kom family by family and God kon choose Zabdi family. 18Joshua sey make Zabdi Family kom man by man and God kon choose Akan wey en papa na Karmi and Karmi papa na Zabdi wey bi Zera pikin and Zera kom from Judah tribe wey God choose.

19So Joshua kon tell Akan, “My pikin, respet Israel God make yu praiz am! Tell mi wetin yu do; nor deceive mi at-all!”

20Akan kon tell Joshua, “Na trut. I don sin against Israel God: 21From di tins wey wi karry from Jeriko, I si one fine klot from Babilon, with two silva koin and one gold wey heavy rish fifty fit. I like dem, so I take dem. I hide dem under di groun for my tent centre.”

22So Joshua send pipol go di tent. Di tins dey for di tent and di silva dey under dem. 23Dem take all of dem from di tent centre kon go give Joshua and Israel pipol kon put am for where God go for si am.

24Den Joshua and Israel pipol take Akan, Zera pikin with di klot, di silva, di gold, en shidren, melu, donkey, sheep, tent and evritin wey bi en own go Akor Valley (wey mean Wahala Valley). 25Joshua kon sey, “Wetin make yu bring wahala for awa head? God go put wahala for yor head today!”

So, evribody for Israel stone en, en family and evritin wey e get until dem die finish, den dem kon burn dem. 26Dem pak many stones on-top dem (di stones dey der till today) and God vexnashon kon stop. So till today, na Akor Valley dem dey koll dat place.

 

 

Achan bad wahala! Na real can of worms be this. Na serious wahala wey dey hard to solve, e touch everybody join body for Israel. Sin be like fire, e dey burn reach every corner. If person sin, e fit affect everybody for area, even people wey nor sin. Sin nor dey small, nor be personal or secret, anything wey God nor like na sin and e must get consequence.

You fit hide wetin you do from people but you nor fit hide am from God as Luke 8:17 talk. For di story, Israel people suffer because only one pesin do bad. But shame, disgrace, defeat and death enter de camp because Achan sin spoil everybody.

Proverbs 28:13 talk say person nor fit get better life if e dey cover im sin like Achan. God dey see wetin you dey hide. You don ever do wetin God warn you make you nor do? Wetin you dey hide so nobody go fit see am? If you dey hide sin, Heb. 4:13 talk say God dey see everything.

Joshua sef confuse why war nor go well for dem, but through God method, dem later find out say na Achan do the thing (Joshua for verses 14-21.

God give clear command say make dem destroy everything for city of Ai because the place dey bad. God talk say carry only silver, gold, brass and iron go temple. But Achan nor hear word, e go thief fine cloth from Babylon and silver and gold hide am under im tent. Achan feel say nobody go catch am, but e soon open can of worms.

Because of secret sin wey dey camp, Israel lose fight. Sometimes, we pray, try, but breakthrough nor come, check well, wetin dey under your tent wey you dey hide? Wetin you dey keep for corner fit dey cause spiritual problem.

Why Achan go collect Babylon fine cloth and money? Na greed and want! This kind thing dey church today too. God pin Achan sin to all im tribe till dem find out.

Achan thief from God! You fit dey say “no be me, I nor dey thief, especially from God!” But check, you dey do, give or talk less than wetin God ask you to do for tithes, offering or help? Bible talk say we fit dey rob God with wetin we dey hold back for Malachi 3:8. If dem need your help and you turn face as James 2:16 and Proverbs 3:27 yarn, you dey like Achan too.

Achan Effect mean say one person wahala fit spoil a whole group—family, team, and church. Secret sin fit beef up wahala for ground.

Achan face punishment quick and open. No play with sin, if you jam am, run go meet God confess and repent as 1 John 1:8-10 command us.

Hebrews 3:13 talk make we dey encourage each other so nobody go fall stay for ground. Accountability matter, because one pesin wahala fit enter the whole body for Christ. God nor wan sin at all, and make we nor allow am too, even small one fit open road for bigger wahala, Galatians 5:9. Nor go open Achan own can of worms.
