PIDGIN WHO DEY STAND WITH YOU?
Proverbs 27:16-17 “6so how pesin go fit make am kwayet? Since pesin nor fit stop breeze or hold oil for hand, e nor go fit stop am too. 17Just as iron dey make iron sharp, na so too, two pesin dey learn from each oda
Who you dey share your
struggles, pain, victories, and joy with?
Who you dey run go meet wey
understand your physical, emotional, material, financial, spiritual, and mental
needs?
Who dey suggest solution,
give ideas, and support you when you need am? Who dey stand gidigba with you
for tough times and hard season? Who you dey go meet to find strength and
encouragement?
Turn am around! Who dey come
meet you? You dey find chance every day to show love, help people wey no get
helper, support the needy, encourage those wey don tire, and stand with the
confused and shaking ones? Anybody wey come meet you, dem go gain anything?
Wetin dem go gain?
Dem go gain wisdom, correct
insight, fresh courage, and stronger faith?
The strength of Christ dey
shine inside our weakness and imperfections.
We no fit live life only by
ourselves; we need each other to dey move forward and sometimes make person
lift us up.
Sharpener or file wey no get
anything to sharpen go just dey useless. Knife wey blunt too no get use without
sharpening.
The strength of any tool dey
inside em sharpness.
If you use blunt knife cut
something, you go suffer—your work go hard, body go pain, hand and arm go
stress well-well. Na because the thing blunt, you go need put more pressure
before the work go complete. Na iron dem dey use sharpen another iron so e go
dey sharp and useful.
No man be island or lone
ranger. Everybody need another person to make dem sharp. Same way man fit
sharpen another man. Better interaction with others dey make life effective and
wiser, especially when e involve correction wey build person and encouragement
wey dey righteous.
Productive life or work dey
show from the kind sharpening person dey get. As hard iron fit sharpen blade,
na so person fit sharpen another person intellect, morals, vision, and
spiritual life. Na how two iron rub together to become sharp, na so people fit
help each other grow, improve, and become better through true friendship, good
advice, and accountability.
Verse 6 show say real friend
na the one wey love you enough to talk truth—even if e pain, because na for
your own good. Fake friend go just dey flatter and deceive. Verse 17 build on
top this one, say the same way iron dey sharpen iron, na so friends go dey
sharpen each other with truth and correction.
Sharpening each other mean
say make we value truth, talk when e hard, give constructive feedback, and
build better relationship wey go help each other find strength and
encouragement.
Hebrews 10:25 na iron wey
fit sharpen our spiritual antenna. This one mean say spiritual growth and
better character dey happen well for community, no be in isolation—friends,
mentors, and believers wey dey together dey sharpen each other faith, mind, and
understanding.
Who you dey sharpen, or who
dey sharpen you?
We see David and Jonathan
sharpen each other for 1 Samuel 23:16.
We see Paul mentor Timothy
for Acts 16–20 and 2 Timothy, teach am faith, doctrine, and leadership. Their
relationship carry guidance, challenge, and trust wey shape Timothy’s spiritual
life.
Barnabas find Paul for Acts
11:25–26, encourage am, and together dem disciple new believers for
Antioch.
Abraham guide Lot by
example, prayer, and intervention, help am face big decision and wahala while e
still let Lot grow in faith by himself (Genesis 14, 18–19).
For Acts 2:42–47, the early
church dey practice teaching, fellowship, prayer, and accountability—dem dey
sharpen each other faith and character through truth and shared life.
Surround yourself with
people wey dey inspire you to grow spiritually, mentally, and morally. Be that
person wey go encourage, sharpen others, and stand strong in truth, love, and
support.
