CHILD-FRIENDLY THE EXCLUSIVITY OF CHRISTIANITY!
Memory Verse: John 14:6 – “Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’”
Exclusivity means something
is special and only for one purpose or person. In Christianity, it means that Jesus
is the only way to God. We don’t get to heaven by being good, following other
religions, or doing nice things. We get to heaven by believing in Jesus.
Why Is Jesus the Only
Way?
Jesus said it Himself in
John 14:6. He didn’t say He was one of the ways—He said He was the only way.
The Bible also says:
- Acts 4:12 – “There is no
other name by which we must be saved.”
- 1 Timothy 2:5 – “There is
one God and one mediator between God and people—the man Christ Jesus.”
Jesus is the only one who
lived a perfect life, died for our sins, and rose again. That’s why only He can
save us.
God tells us in the
Bible:
- Exodus 20:3 – “You shall
have no other gods before me.”
- In Genesis 31:19, Rachel
stole her father’s household idols. But those idols couldn’t help or save
anyone.
God wants us to worship Him
alone and not follow things that take our hearts away from Him—like money,
fame, or even video games if they become more important than God.
Is Christianity Mean or
Unfair?
No! Christianity is exclusive
in the way to God, but inclusive in who can come.
That means everyone is
invited—no matter where they’re from, what they’ve done, or how old they
are.
Jesus loves all people, but
the way to be saved is only through Him. This means you are part of God’s special
family—His chosen people. You are called to love Jesus only and not let
anything else take His place.
REFLECTION QUESTIONS
- What does John 14:6 teach
you about Jesus?
- Why is it good that God
made one clear way to be saved?
- Are there things in your
life that sometimes take your attention away from Jesus?
- How can you tell your
friends about Jesus being the only way?
PRAYER: Dear Jesus, thank
You for being the only way to God. Thank You for loving me and dying for me.
Help me to follow You with all my heart and not let anything else take Your
place. Help me to share Your love with others so they can know You too. Amen.
Shalom
