BLOW MY MIND!
1 Corinthians 2:9 AMPC
But, on the contrary, as the
Scripture says, What eye has not seen and ear has not heard and has not entered
into the heart of man, [all that] God has prepared (made and keeps ready) for
those who love Him [who hold Him in affectionate reverence, promptly obeying
Him and gratefully recognizing the benefits He has bestowed].
The opening of our text
verse is very encouraging and reassuring —“But,” as Scripture says, is used to
introduce a phrase or clause that contrasts with what has previously been
mentioned. This means that everything happens as it is written in the
Scriptures. Whatever God does is designed to blow your mind because of its
wonder, extraordinary nature, and miraculous power.
We literally cannot imagine
what plans God has in store for us. No matter how much we try, we can’t see it
— not even if we hear it described in detail.
God promises to do things
that will amaze us, make the wise question their wisdom, and cause the
intelligent to appear foolish in the face of God's outstanding wonders, as
Isaiah 29:14 says.
What are you asking God to
do in your life right now? Are you ready for Him to exceed your expectations?
You may think you’re
supposed to take a particular step of faith, and you’ve tried many, but nothing
seems to be working out the way you planned. You just seem to be getting “no”
from God repeatedly. Many of us are waiting on God for something, and some have
walked away because they think they’ve asked for something God can’t deliver —
or they believe God is saying no.
Often, the reason God says
“no” to something we’ve asked for now is simply because He desires to say “yes”
to something greater than what we asked for — later!
God can blow our minds with
anything and everything — far more than we can ask or imagine, as declared in
Ephesians 3:20. God is limitless in power and generosity.
God told Abraham to look at
the territories He was giving him, then asked him to take prophetic action by
walking through the land of promise. That was an act of faith recorded in
Genesis 13:14–15. God was teaching Abraham — as He’s teaching us — about seeing
from within.
He doesn’t want us to focus
on people or external circumstances, but rather on His promises.
God was teaching Abraham the
principle of vision.
Anyone who wants to change
their future must learn to focus on the bigger picture — as big as God wants
them to think — and not on the resources currently available.
But Abraham didn’t seem to
grasp the principle of vision at that time. So God took him one step further in
Genesis 15:5–6, helping him see beyond the physical. Abraham finally believed
God because he could see what God saw. The promise became real to him.
How about you?
Do you think the promises
God made to you are too big for Him to fulfill?
Do you doubt God’s ability
to keep His word and do what He promised?
God is about to blow your
mind with His amazing, wondrous power, ability, and readiness to bless, favor,
and promote you. He can and will do more than you think.
How far can you see?
You can only become what you
see — and what you see are your expectations. Like Abraham, God can deliver as
far as your eyes can see. Nothing is too big for Him to give you. Psalm 84:11
says He will not withhold anything good from you. After all, He didn’t withhold
His only Son from you, according to John 3:16.
All things are possible with
God.
Is anything too difficult
for Him?
Call on Him, and He’ll blow
your mind with what He has in store for you.
