CHILD FRIENDLY DON’T BE DRIVEN BUT LED!
Jeremiah 42:1-3 TLB
Then Johanan and the army
captains and all the people, great and small, came to Jeremiah [2] and said,
"Please pray for us to the Lord your God, for as you know so well, we are
only a tiny remnant of what we were before. [3] Beg the Lord your God to show
us what to do and where to go."
Memory Verse: Jeremiah 42:3
(NLT) "Pray that the Lord your God will show us what to do and where to
go."
Are You Being Led or Driven?
God wants to lead us gently
by His Holy Spirit. But the enemy tries to drive us with fear, pressure, or
pride. Being led means we follow God’s voice. Being driven means we’re pushed
by things like fear, friends, or feelings.
Sometimes people ask God to
bless their plans—but they already decided what they want to do. That’s not
really asking God to lead!
Galatians 5:16 says if we
walk by the Spirit, we won’t do what our selfish hearts want.
Even Jesus was led by the
Spirit into the wilderness (Luke 4:1). It didn’t look easy, but it was God’s
plan.
We can look like we’re doing
the right thing—going to church, singing songs—but still be driven by the wrong
things inside. God sees our hearts.
James 4:7 says we must submit
to God and resist the devil. That’s how we stop being driven and start being
led.
There’s no middle ground. 1
John 3:10 says we are either children of God or children of the devil. God
leads us to peace and hope (Jeremiah 29:11), but the enemy only wants to steal
and destroy (John 10:10).
Let’s
choose to be led by God, not driven by the world.
MEMORY VERSE: Romans 8:14
(NIV) "For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of
God."
REFLECTION QUESTIONS
- Who helps you make
choices—God, friends, or feelings?
- Have you ever done
something because you felt pressured?
- Did you ever ask God to
bless your plan without asking what He wants?
- What will you do when
God’s way feels hard or different?
PRAYER: Dear Lord, please
help me follow You and not be pushed by fear or pressure. I want to be led by
Your Spirit in everything I do. Help me listen, obey, and trust You always, in
Jesus’ name, Amen.
Shalom
