CHILD-FRIENDLY STAIRWAYS!
John 1:51 “You will see heaven open and the angels of God going up and down on the Son of Man.”
What are stairways?
Stairways are steps that
help us move from one level to another—like going from the ground floor to the
top floor of a building. In the Bible, stairways are more than just
steps—they’re symbols of spiritual growth and getting closer to God.
In Genesis 28, Jacob had a
dream where he saw a ladder reaching from earth to heaven. Angels were going up
and down, and God was at the top. This ladder showed that God is close to us
and wants us to come to Him.
Jesus is Our Stairway
Jesus said, “I am the
way”—He is the only way to God. Just like we need stairs to reach higher
places, we need Jesus to reach heaven. He helps us grow, learn, and become more
like Him.
Where Are You on the Stairs?
- Are you just stepping on?
- Are you stuck in the
middle?
- Are you at the top but
unsure what to do next?
No matter where you are,
keep climbing! Jesus is with you every step of the way.
Different Kinds of Stairs
- Straight stairs – easy to
follow
- Narrow stairs – need focus
- Steep stairs – need
strength
- Spiral stairs – take time
and patience
Each kind teaches us
something about our journey with God. Sometimes it’s easy, sometimes it’s
hard—but Jesus helps us climb!
Bible Reminders
- 1 Kings 6:8 – Stairs led
to holy places in Solomon’s temple.
- Acts 21:35 – Paul used
stairs to escape trouble.
- 1 Timothy 2:5 – Jesus is
the only way to God.
- Philippians 3:17 & 4:9
– Learn from others and be a good example.
REFLECTION QUESTIONS
1. Where are you on your
faith stairway—just starting, stuck, or moving up?
2. Are you climbing toward
God or taking a break?
3. What kind of stairs are
you on—easy, tricky, or twisty?
4. Are you trusting Jesus to
help you climb?
PRAYER: Dear God, thank You
for giving us Jesus as our stairway to You. Help me to keep climbing, even when
it’s hard. Teach me to trust You, learn from others, and be a good example. I
want to grow closer to You every day, amen.
Shalom
