CHILD FRIENDLY VINTAGE FRIENDSHIP!
Proverbs 18:24 “Friendship if put yu for trobol, but some friends go dey klose to yu pass yor own broda.
What is a friend?
Friends are people we like
to spend time with. God made us to have relationships—with Him and with others.
Our friendship with God should be the best example for all our other
friendships.
Think about this:
- What kind of friends do
you have?
- What kind of friend are
you?
Friendship is like a rope
with two ends—it works best when both people care, trust, and share the same
good goals (Amos 3:3).
What do real friends do?
They help each other, give
advice, encourage, defend, and make each other better (Proverbs 27:17).
Can you trust your friends?
Do they trust you?
Remember the “Golden Rule”
in Luke 6:31: *Treat others the way you want to be treated.
What is Vintage Friendship?
It’s a friendship that has
lasted a long time, grown stronger through good and hard times, and is based on
God’s principles. Like old, fine wine—it gets better with age!
Friendship needs care to
grow. If only one person gives and the other takes, it won’t last. Sometimes
friendships break because they are fake or harmful (2 Corinthians 6:14).
- Are your friends helping
you grow closer to God?
- Do they give good advice
or lead you the wrong way? (Proverbs 25:19)
- Do they keep secrets or
tell everyone? (Proverbs 11:13)
Some friends help us choose
the right path. Others lead us the wrong way (Proverbs 13:20). So choose
friends wisely!
How about you? Do you have a
friend who has stayed close through everything?
If not, don’t worry! There
is one Friend who will never leave you—Jesus!
He won’t tell your secrets,
won’t judge you, and already died for you. He wants to be your friend (John
15:13).
Choose friends who:
- Tell you the truth
- Help you follow God
- Love you for who you are
(Proverbs 17:17)
REFLECTION QUESTIONS
- How does being God’s
friend help you be a better friend?
- Are your friends helping
you grow in faith?
- How do you know when a
friendship is not good?
- How can you show Jesus’
love to your friends today?
PRAYER: Lord, thank You for
being my Friend. Help me be a good friend to others today. In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
Shalom
