CHILD-FRIENDLY WALKING IN THE LIGHT!

1 John 1:5 “And this is the message [the message of promise] which we have heard from Him and now are reporting to you: God is Light, and there is no darkness in Him at all [no, not in any way].”

What Does It Mean to Walk in the Light?

Walking in the light means living in a way that makes God happy. God is light—He is full of love, truth, and goodness. When we walk in His light, we stay close to Him and do what is right.

Just like a flashlight helps us see in the dark, God’s Word helps us see the right path in life. When we follow Jesus, we don’t have to be afraid of the dark—because His light is always with us!

- God is Light – There is no darkness in Him at all (1 John 1:5).

- Jesus is the Light of the World – He helps us see the truth (John 8:12).

- We Were Once in Darkness – But now we are children of light (Ephesians 5:8).

- God’s Word is a Lamp – It shows us the way (Psalm 119:105).

The Prodigal Son in Luke 15:11-32 left his father and made bad choices. He ended up sad and alone. But when he remembered his father’s love, he came back home. His father ran to hug him and forgave him!

That’s what God does for us. When we walk away, He waits for us to come back. His light is always shining, ready to guide us home.

Are You Walking in the Light?

Sometimes we make mistakes or feel far from God. But we can always come back to Him. His light never goes out. When we read the Bible, pray, and love others, we are walking in the light!

MEMORY VERSE: Psalm 119:105 “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”

REFLECTION QUESTIONS FOR KIDS:

- Are there times when I feel far from God’s light?

- What does “walking in the light” mean to me?

- How can I help my friends know God’s light too?

- Do I believe God will always welcome me back when I make mistakes?

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, thank You for being the Light where there is no darkness at all. Please help me walk in Your light every day. Shine Your truth into every part of my heart. Show me when I’m going the wrong way and help me come back to You. I want to live in Your love and truth, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Shalom
