PIDGIN ARISE AND SHINE!

Isaiah 9:2 “The people wey dey waka for darkness don see big Light; those wey dey live for place wey get serious darkness and shadow of death, the Light don shine on dem.

 

Believers no suppose remain for darkness, as 1 Peter 2:9 talk, we be people wey God choose and call out from darkness come light. Darkness mean state wey no get light, na night, secret, shut place, blindness, evil, punishment place, and spiritual word for people wey God cast off, eternal punishment or loss.

Plenty people dey stumble for darkness—some dem no sabi well, some dem lost, some no sure, many dey choose to remain for dark because dem believe say God no love dem, or dem no deserve light, or dem enjoy pleasure for darkness.

Why person go choose to dey darkness when God glorious light dey available? Na deception!

God sabi light important well, that na why Bible start with God talk for Genesis 1:3-5, "Make light dey," and light come. God see light good and separate light from darkness.

Between God set light, mankind decide go back to darkness.

Now, people dey waka for darkness, dey lie and dey do bad thing. Dem no believe, no accept Christ as Lord and Savior, and reject Holy Spirit.

People like dem wey no gree accept Lord invitation for Isaiah 2:5 wey talk, “O house of Jacob, come, make we waka for LORD light.”

Lord still dey call us make we comot for darkness come shine for Him light, but we dey resist. Why we dey stubborn to follow Lord?

God get reason for everything, na for Him glory and make us benefit. One reason Lord want make us comot from darkness and enter light dey for Isaiah 60:1-3.

ARISE: Stand up and comot from all wahala wey don hold you, rise comot from sorrow and bondage.

Make blind person get eye to see body and spirit.

Make all closed door open.

Make every secret treasure show.

SHINE: Make you dey enlightened; God light don shine on you; light inside you wey fit affect others; light wey show Lord glory on us and separate those wey belong to God.

Light dey give revelation and wisdom.

Some of us don stay long for darkness and Lord dey tell us say time don reach to comot from darkness into the light.

Any darkness we dey face na Satan way dey use as veil to hide us from father love, plan and grace.

Darkness be chain for many; e hold dem down, stop dem from to move boldly as soldiers of Christ.

Na hiding place wey no gree make our gifts and grace show for kingdom work.

But God don deliver us and still go deliver us!

Just like God rescue His people wey dey slavry for Egypt darkness for Exodus 6:6; He still dey deliver us from darkness, from Satan and evil power.

Darkness na excuse for not follow Lord well. Many dey use am like crutch to balance desires but sabi say God light dey on you (Psalm 18:28). Lord don deliver you according to Colossians 1:13.

Time don reach to comot and enter light!

- How "walking for darkness" mean for your life or community? 

- You don ever feel say you no worthy for God light? Which belief or experience make you feel that? 

- Which part of your life need God light to shine brighter? 

- To you, wetin “shine” mean for crooked and twisted generation? 

PRAYER: Father, help me waka for your light, your well-lit path, for crooked and twisted generation. Give me power to be light for this generation—clear, bright and full of grace. Make my life shine Your truth and love, make I fit shine as light for others in Jesus name. Amen.
