CHILD-FRIENDLY BEWARE OF MUDSLINGERS!
1 Chronicles 12:2 GNT
members of the tribe of
Benjamin, to which Saul belonged. They could shoot arrows and sling stones
either right-handed or left-handed.
Have you ever played with
mud? It’s messy and hard to clean off! When mud sticks, it leaves stains. Some
people act like that—they throw “mud” with their words to hurt others.
Who Are Mudslingers?
Mudslingers are people who: Say
mean things about others (Psalm 101:5). Those who Tell lies (Exodus 20:16). And
talk behind people’s backs (Romans 1:30). They spread rumours and false stories
to make others look bad.
Why Is It Dangerous?
In Bible times, slingers
were soldiers who threw stones and never missed their target (Judges 20:16).
Today, mudslingers use words like stones—they aim to hurt!
Jesus said in Matthew 12:36
that we will answer for every careless word we speak. So, we must be careful
about what we say and what we listen to.
· Proverbs
10:18 calls a slanderer a fool.
· James
4:11 says don’t speak evil about others.
· Titus
3:2 tells us to be kind and respectful.
What Should You Do?
· Don’t
join in gossip.
· Think
before you speak.
· Trust
God to defend you (Romans 12:19).
Mudslingers don’t want good
for anyone. But God will protect you and clear your name!
REFLECTION QUESTIONS
* Have I ever said something mean without
thinking?
* Do I listen to gossip instead of stopping
it?
* How can I help stop rumours?
PRAYER: Lord, help me keep
my words kind and my heart clean. Stop me from saying hurtful things or
listening to gossip. I trust You to protect me. Let my words bring love and
peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Shalom
