CHILD-FRIENDLY BLASPHEMY!
Luke 12:10 “If you speak badly about Jesus because you don’t understand, God can forgive you. But if you speak against God and the Holy Spirit on purpose, God will not forgive that.”
What Is Blasphemy?
Blasphemy means not respecting God. It is saying bad
things about Him, using His name carelessly, or acting like you are greater
than Him. God’s name is holy, and we must treat it with honour.
-
Exodus 20:7 says: “Do not misuse God’s name.”
-
When people act like they are God or use the
Bible like magic, that is wrong.
-
Job’s wife told him to curse God when life
was hard, but Job said no (Job 2:8–10).
Even Jesus was called a blasphemer because He said He was
God—but He really is God! Today, some people still teach things that make God
look small or make themselves look big. That is blasphemy.
Blasphemy can happen when:
We take credit for what God has done.
We use God’s name in a joke or when we are angry.
We treat God’s Word like magic instead of truth.
God wants us to honour Him in everything—our words,
choices, and actions.
REFLECTION QUESTIONS
-
What does blasphemy mean to you?
-
Have I ever used God’s name wrongly or acted
like I’m more important than Him?
-
How can I honour God every day in my speech
and actions?
PRAYER: Lord, help me to respect Your name and show Your
greatness in everything I do. Help me never to act in a way that makes You look
small. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Shalom!
